So how healthy is this?

It seems to maintain an average of 50c normally, but just before it went up to 54c. Of course it came with the retail heatsink and fan, but is there anything I should do to cool it?

Well, no matter what CPU it is, its within its thermal range, but if thats just idling, you might be in a bit of trouble. Swapping the retail heatsink for even a cheapo upgrade and some AS5 would drop your temperatures a few degrees.

Use a number cruncher and see what it runs at.

My CPU runs at 32 degrees idle. Thats what a nice heatsink and fan combo combined with a bit of Arctic Silver 5 can do. It used to idle around 46.

It was about 10-15 mins after playing Halo. I might try playing a game with the side cover off.

It will use up your idle CPU clock cycles, it shouldn't interfere much in net browsing, but prolly shouldn't run it while playing PS or anything.

Eh guys, ASUS Probe is a pretty inaccurate judge of CPU temp... Use a program like Motherboard Monitor 5 instead.
