Based on the warnings, I hope that they actually make it more difficult to attune later on for the empire that puts out the most BFRs during the event. If they're truly sticking with the in-game fiction, there needs to be consequences for driving the bad boys when not attuned.

They have to introduce the BFRs to the folks buying the game. Can you imagine how pissed you would be to purchase a new game (featuring robots), only to find out that you can't jump in and use one? Also, like was said above, if you read their BFR fiction, there is going to be a period of time, where the BFRs are used "un-imprinted". There are consequences to using them without the imprinting (they alluded to going crazy), so you can expect some wild stuff (hopefully nothing that drives your grief up).
After the event, the empires will "discover" imprinting and make that a requirement for you to cert. I would suggest everyone use this coming week to do a couple of things: 1. Drive the BFRs around and see if this is something you want to waste 5 cert points and time getting 10 cave caps to do. 2. If you decide you like BFRs, then use the time to setup your favorites and learn how to fight/kill with them (and learn what kills the enemy BFRs). I for one intend to send my main character on vacation this week (other than setting up my BFR favorites), and spend my time on the other server running my VS & NC BFRs. (I want to know how bad the enemies equipment is, before I face it for real). I'm just going to consider this next week a "break" from normal gaming and enjoy the show. Edit: One line in the fiction does bother me "This has caused dangerous instability within the BFR resonance core, and could have severe consequences for BFR pilots. " So, what is SOE planning to do to my character in the form of "severe consequences"? I think I just may keep my main from touching a BFR until they go live (time to start a new guy just to play with BFRs).

No No No! KIAsan, youre getting the story of the BFR event all wrong! The empires allready know about imprinting but they are trying to make it available, and are working on BFR stability (atleast TR is) and are making U "imprint" for a safer BFR as it may go "beserk" on you and have unknown results from that.
BUT NC (crazy as they are) want every1 to have a BFR due to thier thoughts of "freedom" and are hacking shit like crazy so a BFR can be bought on all empires. So in thier ignorance they are unleashing a weapon on all empires including they're own so that 1 BFR can attack both friendlies and hostiles or worse/similar affects. But U know the really sad thing about all this? The NC, TR, and VS commad ALL know about the threat of unleashing such an un-ready piece to the battle field. NC think they can be a hero by bringing the most technologicaly advanced vehicle ever to the masses. TR think NC are dooming Auraxis but wouldnt dare announce it as it may have a negative affect on thier soldiers. VS think the spirit of Auraxis/Vanu (wat ever) wont let them down so thier BFRs wont turn on them. So they are just plotting to let TR and NC sabotage themslefs into oblivion while the just watch the show from thier safe lil seats on the VS BFRs. BUT we all know there was never a spirit to guide them, it was just common cense for them to exploit technology from that left behind by the natives of Auraxis.... or is there actually a spirit that will return to Auraxis? RECAP! EMPIRES THOUGHTS ON THIS: NC= a Plus for the freedom of humanity *cough.HIPPY.cough* TR= BAD IDEA, UNSTABLE! VS= Genius! We will be sneaky and make our BFRs better than the rest! MUHAHAHA! .... yeah, Iam really into the story of PlanetSide... thats Y its a MMOFPSRPG not a MMOFPS Last edited by kcirreda; 2004-10-16 at 10:45 PM. |
