To be honest, the single player isn't worth it. It's fun playing as Mercury though. (Grey Assassain Robot).
If you like that kind of multiplayer, then you'll enjoy it. It's better than Tribes 2 multiplayer IMO. Especially if you have some people playing with you that you know. |

Go buy it. The single player is a welcome change from the traditional Tribes training missions. The multiplayer(core of the game) is extremely good, despite a few bugs. If you don't want to buy it right away, wait a few weeks for the patches to take effect. Tribes 3 owns. Not to mention the mods that will be released soon, including the one I'm beta testing that has battle cruisers..... drools

I tried the demo, and rather liked it, but I don't like how the full game has been depleted of it's complexity, compared to Tribes 2.
Only 4 backpacks Only 4 vehicles One one way to use weapons, if I remember correctly. IMHO the lack of content simply make it a game to ignore...What a waste of potential

It blows. Tribes is not an ultra-fast FPS like Unreal, and the gameplay reflects this.

The gun katas. Through analysis of thousands of recorded gunfights, the Cleric has determined that the geometric distribution of antagonists in any gun battle is a statistically predictable element. The gun kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents while keeping the defender clear of the statistically traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increase to lethal proficiency makes the master of the gun katas an adversary not to be taken lightly. |
