I think flying BFRs is a bit of a stretch. So they can be gone tomorrow for all I care.

I wish they would, but I haven't read anything about it. Is this just a "what if?" question or are they actually going?

Can't find anything on the OF about them going, so I'm assuming they're not.

But, not in favor of removing them (and no, I don't have the BFR cert).

Their flight potential is a bit extreme, IMHO. They shouldn't be gotten rid of completely, but the ability to jump vertically ~200 meters is a bit much.

I think if the flight BFR should be changed to simply be a hovering BFR, with a bit of altitude control.

Basically a super Mag that can drive over rocks.

I'm sorry, but near-invulnerable flying dual-skyguards should never have been brought into being in the first place.

I doubt they are going to actually remove them though one can hope.

Not gonna happen.

What is required is a little more common-sense and rational thought and a little less 'OMFG NERF'.

One of the reasons I left that damn cesspit in the first place, people are irrational and angst-filled.

Fixing Flight Variants is reasonably simple.

1) Disable shields while in-flight.
2) Allow AA weapons to lock-on to flying BFRs and deal damage

Do that and BFR pilots will have to engage their brain before their jumppacks.

TB.

^ awesome.

i agree completely - if they take to the sky, they should have the same restrictions as other air vehicles

I just don't like how EVERY Vanu BFR is an Eclipse. I went to a base being attacked by the VS yesterday and it was like literally stirring up a damn bee's nest with the amount of stuff that flew up into the air upon my approach. So yeah, I wouldn't mind if the flight variants were removed, but I know it's not going to happen because of the wasted work that'd imply.

Losing shields is a bit too much. I think if they are simply made unable to leap so damn high up it wouldn't be much of a problem.
