If you could add anything to planetside what would it be and why?
I would add a nuke that kills everything in the base like the gen vechs outside, peeps inside. But that empire can only use it like once every 3 days or something and cant do it on capitols and there has to be warning for the empire being bombed. AA oriented air craft, empire specific variants? I want a dogfight and i want one now!
few new vehicles wouldnt hurt... i often forget theres vehicles other than Magrider prowler vanny reaver and gals. maybe more tanks, or some sort of long range artillery, but not flail long range. somthing to effectively counter heavy assault, other than heavy assault.... /shrug yea uni upgrade at BR 21 would be cool too, 7, 14, 21.. Redone flight mechanics to make aircraft work similar to BF1942, only they'd be able to have a VTOL mode which would limit speed to 20 or so, disable all weapons, and take a few seconds to activate (to facilitate landing/repairing as they currently are). But the 'combat' mode of aircraft would require have constant forward propulsion, and dropping speed below a given point would cause the aircraft to go into a dive. To help round out the game following such a change, an air superiority aircraft would be added, all ground based AA would be dramatically reduced in effectiveness, all lock-on weapons vs aircraft would be made extremely imprecise (to the point where they can actually be dodged and thus need to be timed when fired to avoid wasting rounds on thin air), and reavers would be changed to be more of an armor-buster aircraft but also with stronger chainguns for strafing infantry.
A total rework of the aircraft dynamics and how the ground and air elements interact is what I want. We've got some good ground combat, but aircraft stick out like the sore, unfinished, poorly-implimented thumb they are. Something has to be done. If I could do one thing, it would be to overhaul this and make Planetside 10x better as a result.

+ phantasm mini-dropship with camo ability
+ SMG's and SAW's + infil only areas - nooby or useless heavy assault weapons +all certs have ES options, ie sniper rifles, air cav vehicles +EM wall scaling for infil suits +hacking ability on main terminals for spying +CR5 plus actual military ranks, seargent, leutenant, commander, politician, these are dependant on your place in a leader board, where your position is made via your popularity, your squad's ability to stick together, to complete tasks more than just kill lots of enemies, and their general CEP rate, if you are high up in an outfit then just being in an outfit squad will help you gain rank commanding abilities depend on these +adv medic allows use of menues for quicker healing, MGS3 style, i beleive +command vehicles which double for long-range hacking +invis bubble around routers +short/medium term camps, good for squad regrouping +obvious but effective traps indoors and outdoors turret stations, and healing /ammo stations, good for bridge battles "STRIPPERS! Better command rank abilities (choices even?) There was a sweet post here a way bit back about this, really caught my intrest.
Merits give some minor abilities, or diferent weapons. Im not saying scavenger one gives all weapons, but just something minor fo say rifleman; adds extra shot before CoF bloom. Something like that. Base Redesigns, maybe new types of base? After your first tech or AMP, noone really has any care, they just go at whats next. Maybe make only one base of each type on cont and add more types? I know its alot of work but still. Obligatory better flightmodel. |
