Training Question

Hi all

Long time reader first time poster

I have a question about training that I have yet to see addressed, so hopefully it hasn't.

Is there any in game mechanism for Squad level training. For example in T2 we would lock down a server set up a base, then all switch teams and practice asaulting that particular deffensive configuration. It helped in honing our Tribe into a machine, that you just can't get in the live combat kinda experience. So will it be possible to... like, use the VR trainer at Squad/platoon strength to practice tactics and Strategies.

If nothing else this would be a pretty keen high level Command ability.

So if anyone out there has any idea let me know

If your question is "can you practice with your squadmates in VR training" the anser is: probably. It's my understanding that the online VR training will be multiplayer but I could be wrong. Anyways you probably wouldn't have much control over it and might be better off training in the "real world" so to speak.

lol, thats a good one

but to answer your question: To my understanding, yes. You will be able to create a multiplayer VR session. I may be wrong, but that is my understanding.

Is that a "Mr. Obvious show" reference, or am I just goofy?

Or both?

NAH just what everyone always says when they call Radio shows...

I also think it's lame to not read a forum for a day or 2 before hoppin in, gives a feel for who's out there.

So to Clarify, if the VR is multiplayer, will you be able to set up "Red Teams" or some such, and try out tactics... It's just a great way to build coordination and skill without Bashing your stats wiht mass deaths.

Just that a game that is going to encourage Team play at this level, I hope that they also insert a mechanism to enhance a teams ability to succeed.

In Tanarus, another Station game, there were special levels called "Practice arenas" where players could try out the different tanks and weapons and it wouldn't effect their stats. It was exactly like the actually game execpt it would hurt your stats.

I have a feeling Planetside will have pretty much the same thing, where you can fight the other empires with whatever gun or vehicle you wanted without hurting stats.
