Discussion on CR5's

I am one of the now.. many CR5's on TR emerald. There are a ton of them now given the game has been out for several years.

The CR5's were originally tasked with leading the empire to victory, now it seems nobody listens anymore. Why is this? Has the CR5' title been degraded down to nothing due to spam? Are the people idiots?

What do you think of CR5's and the rank itself?

The biggest problem with CR5s is the fact that 90% of them got it just for that piss ass OS. They never should have attached such an overpowered weapon to leading. You end up with thousands of prepubecents with the ability to globally spam because they grinded to get the "big skilless gun".

I have actually dropped squad (and outfits) from people trying to force CR on me. I refuse to be just another OS on the battlefield.

Players should be able to vote a limited number CR4 people to CR5 rank. The point of the CR5 is someone who can coordinate forces across all planets, but over time the more you have and I think it delutes the effectiveness of the rank when you have so many people with the ability to spam globally.

The OS is really lame too.

I would rather listen to an outfit leader who listens in on the command chatter and filters out what he thinks is relevant.

I'm a CR5 on Emerald TR and most of them on there are a bunch of kids spamming command chat with worthless stuff. No one agrees on targets so everyone counter-globals eachother so much the zerg just drifts apart to different places. I wish there devs would do a number of things to fix this.
1) Cr5 target voting: lets cr5s vote on primaries and secondaries
or
2) give CR5s voting power to give certain cr5s the ability to lead while others cant global and can maybe only contall every 20minutes or so.

of course those would have to be fine tuned for balance and make sure it works out and wont make leading difficult for all.

i just really wish there was some kind of higherarchy within the cr5 command

Hmm... Just recently I have tried out being an SL, and its a bitch. no one at all listens to me, noone, I try making a plan, they all go " omg zerg rush kekeke". Its stupid, Im actually trying to be a decent SL, but its hard when the people you lead dont even listen...

This is why on Emerald TR many coordinated outfits or outfits desiring an organized central sort of command have joined with ULTRA, the longest-running alliance in the history of Planetside (since before retail launch). We all fit on one Teamspeak server and we coordinate efforts via channel commander, and also on the alliance forums.

NC Markov is pretty free of spam. It's mostly CR5s telling people which planet to go to.

The OS is a very important part of battle and breaking stalemates but there are far to many of them now.

Indeed, and what I was getting at was that a lot of CR5s don't have any intention of leading, they just want the OS.

i try to lead but no one ever listens unless you get a big majority of the cr5s to agree over global with you. if you dont get backed up then your com's dont get any attention. And its all because of the cr5 spam. so much pointless shit that no one cares when there is something important up there.
