Well... my train of thought was:

1. The guy makes it and sells it.
2. The guy buy its and beleives his target needs it.
3. The guy who receives it doesnt know it but needs it according to no. 2

If the Calibur .30 1906 (30-06) was adopted in 1906, then how was it used in the Springfield 1903?

The Springfield 1903 used a 30-03 round. Same cartridge and bullet diameter but we started using spitzer (sp?) (pointed nose, what today we call normal bullet) bullets and called it the 30-06.
