Audio... no video at all

i finally downloaded that ass big patch

my friends and i all got it when we heard it was free recently

i launched the game

i meet more than the recommeneded requirements btw

it goes to a black screen

i never see the intro credits (SOE BLAHBLAH)

then i finally just hear sound from the main menu...

i reinstalled disabling my antivirus and getting rid of unnecesary appz

still nothing

so i installed it on my other rig

works fine....

thats how i know the intro credits are supposed to show up and such

but nothing

i even changed power management settings to always on
still nothing...

any suggestions


specs

1.5 gigs of ram (my friends have less btw... and it works for them)
2.2 ghz amd
nvidia 6800gs 512mb version

While you can hear the audio, can you alt+tab and have it show the video for a bit? If so, you probably have a Saitek Eclipse or Gamers Keyboard. PlanetSide has a problem with these keyboards and causes this to happen. To fix it you can either disable the two "USB Human Interface Device" in Device Manager, replace the keyboard, or uplug the keyboard while starting PlanetSide, then plugging it back in.

i have a saitek and if i alt tab i see it a lil bit

guess ill use another when playing planetside

I know how to fix it, had the same problem. Go into control panel, than system, than hardware, than device manager, and look for your USB Human interface devices. There should be 3-5 of em. Disable one at a time, and launch the game, one of them will fix the problem. Be sure to re-enable em when your done though, some games wont work without it.
