Windows Vista

So last night my Vista torrent finally finished downloading and I installed it on my 64-bit desktop that I rarely use. So far, I'm pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. I haven't installed any games or programs other than iTunes, Firefox, and AIM, but it's pretty damn nice. It's pretty to look at, and there's a fluidity to moving between windows/menus.

I don't see myself upgrading my laptop to Vista until there's better support for games, since XP works just fine. I can't complain much though, since it's free and I finally get to let my 64-bit processor work its muscles.

Damn this GUI is pretty

Not about to pay money for something that should still be in beta. Plus, fuck that.

I've got a free upgrade with my new notebook(asus W3J) that should arive in about a month or two.

I'm thinking about putting it on this comp instead becasue the drivers will be less an issue.(I also want 64bit, thoug thye'll only snd my 32bit, I think I can use the key on either)

I'll license it through school... sometime in like 3 years, after a service pack or 5.

I was being serious.

The operating system IS NOT what in any way what I, as a computer engineer, qualify as "good" or "stable". This isn't my mac-side talking, this is my plain old computer side talking.

Don't get me wrong, it has outstanding potential. It's potential that may eventually be realized... but that hasn't happened, yet.

I prob wont get it for a little while - but eventually once it becomes more compatible with everything. Since I got a DX10 Card I may as well use it

I won't be upgrading my workstations at work for at least a year or more though.

I really like Vista, it's nice and shiny, although it doesn't seem to do that much over XP.

Will probably get it with my next PC upgrade, i.e. when I get a dx10 card and most games start having "DirectX 10 or compatible" on their recommended specs list.

Re: Windows Vista

I don't see that happening, Vista isn't a rebranded XP. Windows ME was just windows 98 with more garbage.. Vista is not that.
