Anyone try 5760X1080 on Planetside?

I have been using this resolutiong through SLI with Black Ops, MW2, WOW, and any other recent game I have been playing.

I saw a thing on widescreen forums saying that planetside supports wide screen resolutions with a patch that was release several years back.

Anyone get this to work on Planetside or am I stuck waiting until Planetside Next?

When I get back on friday and if I can get PS to run I will post video from my actual setup. Hopefully it works that well for me.

Looking at this I was also thinking that the graphics are not bad for an 03 game. How did this ever run on my old geforce 2? There also had to be some sort of graphics enhancements for aftershock?

How about that new TV that is closer to Cinemascope in proportions, 20X9 instead of 16X9 in aspect ratio?

Works great, and i really didnt have to do anything but select the resolution.

Now if there was only a way to increase the distance the game draws the grass (would look better) and dial down the fog a little.

I wanted this so bad earlier in January. I ordered two refurb LCD monitors that matched my current one to do 5040x1050 along with a XFX 6950. I was so psyched. Unfortunately the two LCD monitors I ordered were DOA. I ended that adventure and returned everything. Though seeing this makes me happy that it would of worked for PS!

I hope for PS Next the game is setup properly for it. Such as how the UI gets all stretched out in the current game. I would find that a bit annoying. Again nice job!

Ok here is some fraps video of this. HD should be available shortly

Fraps has some issues with this game. First it cuts my framerate in half when recording. Probably because it is recording at 5760x1080. Second the videos are huge. Third I can only press the button like 4 times before it causes planetside to crash and burn.

I will try to get actual video from my setup this weekend. There is a reason the curved screen setup is better than just a big display and you have to see it to understand.

Sorry to bump an old thread, how did you get this to work? I tried editing machine.ini and that made no difference. I'm running two ATI cards in crossfire with eyefinity setup in 3x1.

Anyone know how to get this game to work with the eyefinity?

Thanks

If you add enough screens to the sides, do you eventually get 360 degrees?
