I would like PSN to implement a throw feature with equipment such as ammo or health kits and an an automatic pick up when you run over them or get hit with them similar to other FPS games.
The current system is too slow and makes it easier to just find a terminal to reload than to actually pick up ammo off dead soldiers or sharing ammo/health kits with team mates. Vehicle reloading should also be as easy as driving to a spot and waiting for a timer for your vehicle to be reloaded. I would like to see the way you manage equipment refined a bit more. |

I too would like automatic pickup of ammo that fits your current weapons or current favorite layout.
So it basically tries to maintain whatever favorite you loaded. you used a medikit? if you run over one it picks it automatically (though, I'd really like a rethink of how those work).

I don't like the idea of it being completely automated, running over a backpack and just magically picking up ammo and med kits seems cheesy. And as Peacemaker mentioned, it helps keep PlanetSides pace.
However, going Rbstr's idea of maintaining favorites, what if we added a button into the corpse inventory that attempted to auto-loot equipment that was from your current load outs favorites. For example: I run into a TR wielding a Cycler and I am using a Gauss, we both suck and I use a box-and-a-half of 9mm ammo, and two med kits. I kill him and open up his back pack, He has one med kit remaining and a bunch of 9mm ammo. I click the auto-loot button and the game auto loots the one med kit, and 1 full box of ammo, but does not replace the box with 25 rounds left. The game would not loot the 25 rounds so that to totally refill requires a little bit of effort on your part. This gives you a little bit of automation, but still requires interaction (opening the corpse, and clicking the auto loot button). I suggest this using a button, and not fully automatic so that a) if you don't want it to auto loot, it wont, and b) it isn't so quick that refilling ammo becomes a completely trivial part of survival. |

Yea that would work also. I don't think everything should be instant pickup but some thing should be. Medpacks should be instant pickup but you still have to use them.
Although on the flip side with the way PlanetSide works instant pickup may not work. You have limited inventory space imagine if you were trying to reload at a terminal and your inventory was full because of all the random items you picked up? |

I like the old method a lot, though there definitely could be some changes.
Mostly, I agree with what PsychoXR said, but with a few minor changes. You automatically pick up ammo for the gun you're using, but medkits, other weapons and other weapon's ammo need to actually be looted from the backpack. |

Yeah, I'd like to see some change made. Psycho's idea is pretty cool.
I don't know about you guys, but for me, looting a backback is always a death wish. It doesn't seem matter how safe I think I am, as soon as I'm looting a backpack, some enemy will come out of nowhere and kill me, or the backpack will decon....or both. It's as reliable as Murphy's Law. So now I have like this Pavlovian Response to looting them. I'm always making a look like I'm about to be punched in the face whenever I do it. |

Yeah yesterday I decided to try looting an enemy TR to get his chain gun. So I get his main weapon fine and about the time I get the second box of ammo in my inventory the door opened and two more TR's came in and were like.
"look at this jackass looting corpses" BOOM. I like Rbstr's and Psycho's ideas to automate it a bit. |
