The way doors automatically opened upon detecting Friend or Foe with in range really bothered me.
I've lost count how often I wished a door didn't automatically opened because a friendly unit came to close with in the proximity sensor of the door and opened, next thing you know a vanguard shell flies in, hits the back end of the wall and pretty much kills every body with in its blast radius. I really hope that doors, specially those with a lock on the outside of towers/base doors will need activation (interaction key, default "G") to open from both the outside as well as the inside, no more auto open upon detecting Infantry with in a certain distance of the door. Remain closed until activated. Press activation button, Hear the unlock sound just like you hear when you hacked it open, 1~2 seconds delay and then open. Remain open for a set duration and until no more infantry units are detected with in a certain distance of the door. Onces the door closes, it remains closed for 1~2 seconds and then needs activation again to open. Doors in the base I didn't really mind opening automatically, for they didn't have vehicle fire hailing through the door opening. Whats your take on doors? |

I think a cool virus/buff you could put on a base would be to increase door hack time though. Can you imagine how fun it would be to lock people out of their own base? |

I think that manually opening doors is a good idea but on the flip side I don't think it would work. Just imagine trying to open a door while the enemy is on the other side and closing it
Add in a whole bunch more people and it gets nearly impossible to go through the door - you go from the door opening to often to never opening at all haha. |

I want to have to press a button to open the door; as a Vanu all we do is get nuked by tank shells when we go by doorways; the TR and NC have to get hit thrice by our tanks to die!
(Not that this stopped me from butchering the NC foot zerg on Esamir last night with my trusty Mag) I also want a second option of breaching an enemy locked door; stick a boomer on it and destroy it! Engineers would have to patch the door up later. |

Played lots of left4dead and when two players or more try to interact with the same door it can create funny as well as frustrating moments, specially when your on the wrong side of the safe room and have a horde of zombies coming at you. |

I say leave the doors as they are, just allow it so engineers can put a blast guard up a few feet from the door to stop vehicles spamming straight into the entrance.
Likewise let engineers put bunkers on top of walls , so players can still shoot out at other players , and vice versa like the few field bunkers we have in game, but make it harder for aircraft to pick you off from above. Not like aegis field generators , more like a solid destructable structure that you add to the indestructable bases etc already in game. They could make them destroyable by an os or sustained attack from vehicles , but the structure would save you from being instantly killed by that type of fire. Maybe leave you with 25 hp if you run in there to survive an os . If a vanguard blew one side of the bunker open , they could spam inside then . |

I like the interact with the door to open it as long as it is only the doors to the outside. To fix the problem with two or more trying to play with the door you say when you interact with a door it opens only. It closes automatically when no one is around like it already does. Even with this the enemy could just hack and open from the outside to let the spamming begin. What it does help though is setting up on the inside so you can run by the door without worrying about all hell unleashing.

What if we allowed vehicles to just blow the doors clean off?
Or What if vehicles spamming ground level doorways caused the doors to crumble and be impassible. Or What if there was a chance for either ^^ Tangent: Should Engineers be able to blow temporary holes in base walls to open new entrances? Maybe make this a high point cert. |
