Grief Points and vehicles

Just something that should defiantly be added to PS-N if there is going to be a Grief Point system,

If a vehicle runs over a player it's the vehicle that should receive 100% of the grief points. I'm getting pretty sick of getting awarded G points due to the stupidity and bad driving of some shmo who doesn't deserve a license to drive a hoop and a stick let alone a tank.

Just like in RL the driver takes responsibility

Wow, you get grief points for being hit by a teammate?
That's only remotely silly.

Definitely should go.

Friendly vehicle vs grunt damage should just go away. It serves no real useful purpose. Just make the grunt slide through the vehicle. I don't care.

There's a reason the damage is shared; before only the driver would get grief and players would intentionally run in front of vehicles in the CY to cause 'reverse-grief' with virtually no penalty...

Watch where you're going and stay out of the way and you should rarely have a problem...

Okay, how about we remove the ability to be run over by a friendly vehicle?

Mowing enemies down should still be a viable option for those who don't feel like shooting a gun, or dont have a driver weapon.

Did you guys actually have problems with this? I mean did it grief lock you a lot? I can't say I ever experienced a situation where this was a problem.

shh sirisian.

We're assuming Canaris is a horribly unlucky fellow who always seems to find himself unwittingly underneath his own empire's tank treads.

PS: I've never had a problem with it.

Guys you are missing the real issue here. Its the lag in what you see and what they see and CSHD system that is the real issue. On his screen you arent in the way, or maybe on your screen you arent in the way, depending where the lag comes in for taht situation. So you dont move thinkin you are clear and get whacked, or you move thinking you need to get outta the way and get whacked because he is actually in a different position than what you see. Those variations in time and even exact location are the real culprit. PS:N will have much better tech and should take care of the vast majority of the issues.

Besides, its such an extreeeeeemly minor issue anyway, even in the current bad system its a negligable issue at best. It will just get better in PS:N so it wouldnt even make my top 100 list of concerns.

The current system is just fine, you barely get any Grief points for dmging a vehicle's bumper. If you get wep lock because of it, then you must have hit 1,000 bumpers before that, so you deserve it.

Some people are just dumb.

You cant walk across the street at night wearing dark clothing and expect people to know you're there. Plus, the cop car had headlights so its her fault for not stopping to walk into his path.

I hope the woman's okay of course, but sheesh, that's not very intelligent.

Anyway...

Nonsense on lag being the issue it's not, I've driven around loads and havn't had single fender bender on any of our Empire even in the midst of peak time crasy zerg, you slow down, steer and as if by "magic" you don't hit anyone.

Nice video Morf, shame we don't have night cycle on PS so you could blame that

So far this has been the only good counter I've heard but still once again *you slow down, steer and as if by "magic" you don't hit anyone*

If you never had and issues than consider your self very lucky.
You might not experience any lag and have a nice stable low ping connection with the server, but others might not be so lucky with their connection to the server.

Client side hit detection and lag plays a very very big role.

I've played on Werner, less than 30 miles away from the server best ping you could possibly want in any kind of FPS game. Yet I still experienced getting run over by vehicles I jumped clear from. Yet when I was driving I had little issues myself by evading running in to other players.

Is this due to lag? Yes.
