Upgrading for Ps2?

I sure am....

Definitely Hitting up a Nvidia card this time around as well ( sorry ATI, I love you but I need the physx :P)

Thinking about waiting around for the Ivy to come out from intel, rumors have it its 20 percent faster than sandy bridge which would be impressive.

Going all R.O.G components as well. I wanna maximize this bad boy for ultra high settings for ingame, so I can drool from day to day and possibly end all social life.....

Any of you guys thinking about upgrading for ps2??

Possibly the same second I get a relatively permanent place to live, before furniture, there will be a candy-shop trip through Newegg.com.

Upgrade? No. Brand-new rig.

Until then, I think a twin-video-card gaming laptop will have to do.

Why didn't you post this in the other thread about upgrading for PS2?

And yes, I will be upgrading my CPU / mobo / RAM. Already did my GPU. Would have waited and gotten something better in the future, but my other card was overheating without even playing games. Hopefully a 460 GTX will cut it.

PhysicXs will still run on ATI cards...probably without them breaking on you too.

I didn't think Physx runs as well on ATI's , being a Nvidia technology.

Yeah, I'll be happy if I can get it to look at least decent and always 60+ FPS. I'll settle for looking like crap and 60+, but I want eye candy this time around!

My brother got a $450 bike recently, so come Christmas I plan to spend ~$400 "equality" bucks on some upgrades.

Currently got an E7300, 2 GB DDR 2 800 mhz ram and my GTX 460 lo.

Apparently there's a GPU heavy and CPU heavy version of physx, most likely PS will be using the CPU heavy implementation. Not 100% sure though.

Definitely upgrading for Planetside 2. I'm swapping out my stock CPU cooler for a liquid cooler so I can overclock my AMD Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition from 2.5ghz to 3.3-3.5ghz. Also buying a R.A.T. gaming mouse (maybe a 7, or maybe a 9). Also, my monitor recently died, and I found out that they sell a 1920x1080 monitor with 120hz!!! I'm gonna run Planetside 2 at 120 frames per second!

I have 8gigs of gaming RAM and a pair of Radeon 4870's in Crossfire.

Very excited

Why not lock it at 60fps and then you can render more nicely?

Awesome I just bought the Razer Mamba 4g..Its truly an awesome mouse, I was looking into the RAT but they have tracking issues if you lift the mouse up a bit moving it around, if they come off the pad at all even slightly you could be waiting a second or more for it to start tracking again, I would suggest the razer mamba, but all personal preference. I also just purchased the samsung 1920x1080 2770FH with 1 ms but just 60 hz but it does hold the movement very well, Im not into 3d or anything so no real point having a 120 hz till the price drops.

In my experience Razer sucks at tech support. My mouse software wouldn't work and they wouldn't respond, so I went back to my logitech brick.

Luckily for me I bought extended warranty with the local dealer for Razer, anything wrong i bring it in for a quick swap for a new one.

that dont need to pay me shit.

ever time I go nvidia i get shaftef, bar the TNT2.
heres all my graphics cards.

TNT2- worked fine.
9800 XT- Worked perfectly until i attempted to watercool it.
6600GT- Out of the box broken, was aftifacting, it was replaced the second one was however fine.
X850XT- worked perfectly.
X1950XTX x2 - still work fine till this day.
upgraded that to 2 280GT's, i think they were, terrible, terrible cards, both replaced under warrantly, my mate brought the same card at the same time, his lasted longer than mine, but now he also loads to a green screen of nothing, anyway i got store credit on those and replaced them with a the 5970, which off course is an ATI product that runs fine.

Seriously hate nvidia cards, I could just be the most unlucky person ever getting all the buggy batches, but screew em, way to many problems. but anyway, i only look at the graphics cards when i buy them to see whats the best price / preformance(how i made the mistake with the 2x 280s) but ATI generally seems to out preform nvidia... still...and the cards are cheaper...

I've had a 7900 GT, 8800 GT, and now a 460 GTX. 7900 I replaced quickly with 8800 when I saw it for cheaps, and the 8800 lasted me four years.
Only had the 460 for a week but it runs amazingly cool.

I guess you're unlucky
