I refuse to buy games till I've tried them. However I think I'll pre-order this one.

my mouth has been watering since E3. i'm buying a new joystick for it (hoping it will come in handy for the PS2 flying physics as well -- fingers crossed!)

those videos of the tanks rolling through the desert look epic. speaking of joysticks, i wonder how important they will be in ps2. i heard more than once the best pilots in several different bf games use joysticks.

Played the alpha, its more Bad Company 3 and barely any Battlefield 3

But then what were you really expecting when it was made by EA and aimed to 'beat' Modern Warfare 3

Yeah! A single level in an alpha build of a game, you know what's what man, you got the skinny dawg!

I'd agree with him. You could try acting less like less of a prick as you have no idea what you're talking about.

I've played the Alpha as well, and its good - its just more like Bad Company 3 than Battlefield 3. You don't need to have played more than one level to grasp the feel of the game and how it handles.

The engine they're running it on is amazing, properly next gen stuff. Even in Alpha the environment looks sick. Shrubs and trees react to explosions etc its very cool.

Alphas have NDA's... So I wouldn't be able to say what I know.

I'll calmly wait here for the alpha-lawyers from EA to arrest me for giving an opinion on the alpha, as I seem to recall the thousands of videos of alpha gameplay on youtube resulted in a mass-suing of thousands of gamers.

/sarcasm off

Anyway I never signed an NDA so good luck on that one. However that would require the lawyers jetting all the way into the ass-end of nowhere to come and chat to me, inevitably I could just say that I was lying and making stuff up to look cool on the internet, what proof is there otherwise. The alpha is not installed on my PC nor has it ever been. All to be said, the alpha wasn't conquest game mode nor was it 64 player so it was obviously going to play like its Bad Company namesake instead of its Battlefield namesake. I'm still gonna buy and play it and hold my judgement until beta or release. It's better to be skeptical of a game that claims to be forged from the lightning of Zeus himself than start defending it, I'd hardly say EA or Dice have had a good recent track history of being PC gamer centred or living up to their promises.
