For sure, granted my interest has sharply declined due to the prospect of returning to planetside and not to mention it seems they are making too much an emphasis on boredom grindfest as they are increasing levels to 80+ last I heard..
Still await the last class reveal to truly decide, as long as its nothing like the last game which while decent was in the end boring and filled with repetitious tedium. Thus defeating the entire purpose to begin with.. |

I am dying for this game to come out. I loved the original GW. Played that game to death racking up about 2,500 hours of the years I played, due to that I am bored as hell with the game now.

I'm no fan of the ol' quest -> level -> raid till you die of boredom MMO formula either.
BUT I think Guild wars 2 will be fun, because you can start World PvP at lvl 5 or so and level up that way. The game looks like it will be well worth a shot |

I'm keeping my eye on it. Definitely want to get it and try it out once it's released. But I never really got into the first one.
The whole "instanced world" thing threw me off. Where the world was instanced to just you and your party but everyone shared towns.. No beuno. But that isn't the case in GW2. So can't wait to try her out. Any idea when beta starts or will there be one? I can't remember. |

Well, after being whisked away with the recent gamescom trailer watching and rewatching the trailer various times I find my "faith" rekindled, if they can truly pull of the ever alternate living and breathing world that cultivates the dynamic events which encompasses all various types of players to contribute ever encompassed team play. I would find its undulation difficult to resist even with my healthy skepticism of even decent companies like arena net.
Personally cant wait to see how this WvW pvp will play out still an engimatic and ambitious development that has yet to be revealed but I'm wishful in thinking they just may atleast give us a glimpse into it...

I put in my hours grinding WoW and playing the end game raid content through the Lich King expansion, and I had alot of fun with the game. After awhile, scheduling raids that take hours to do, it just started feeling more like a job than a game, so I quit cold turkey. Cataclysm almost lured me back, but I was able to resist.
So while I'm not a huge rpg fan, I do enjoy them from time to time, and GW2 looks pretty damn cool. I'd like to get it, but if it gets released at the same time as SW:TOR and I have to choose between then 2, then the Star Wars geek in me will win out. I'm kind of hoping I'll be mainlining PS2 beta by then, but we'll see. |

I thought there was rumblings about beta maybe this fall. I haven't heard a peep about release at that time, but it would be more then welcome. Right now I am playing next to nothing with games. Brunt out of PS and none of my friends are playing anymore, so that doesn't help.

I was about to make a new thread on Guild Wars 2 when I saw this and decided I would just ressurect this thread.
So I am really excited for it. When I first played FFXI and WoW and other games. I was really expecting something like what Guild Wars 2 sounds like it is going to be. A game where everyone has meaningful impact and works together. A dynamic world that is always changing to atleast some varying degree. But it's not only the story and persistant dynamic world that has me excited. I actually want to try and play all the different classes and most of the races. Perhaps even multiple warriors. The customization and mechanics just really turn me on. The world v world PvP has me interested as well, moreso than the typical PvP which actually looks like it succeeds with destructible environment, siege weapons, and advantageous environment(cliffs, roofs, buildings, etc.) I always enjoyed the plot in the first Guild Wars, I can't wait to immerse myself into this world again. |
