Now, I know it's my fault I for the first time and many times shortly following for being grief locked.
But come on....Over the course of 6-8 hours I gained that grief, it's not like I was TKing left and right. Mostly I shot up another guy's magrider because he was being a dick and getting between mine to steal kills. And I got the weaponlock upon me due to idiots running infront of me...I really tried to avoid it but shit just kept happening. Max coming out of door, got my Switchblade stationed, I waited patiently, it was clear, started unloading...softy runs inbetween us and fires his decimator.....wtf? One shot hit him, I had just got off being locked. Then later a magrider decided to cut me off and the game decided I damaged him at 20mph. I think it's a little too unforgiving.... And then I was in a max and hit someone once and lost probably 3 kills Last edited by Graywolves; 2011-09-04 at 05:58 AM. |

In all the years I played PS I have never been grief locked, the only time I came close was when I first picked up the Thumper and tried using it in hectic base fights.
Driving a mag in particular you just need to be careful when driving through friendly courtyards. |

I have been grief locked before but not that many times. It's usually when I use special assault (thumper) and playing for many hours back to back, that screws me. I stay away from that cert now :P
I do agree, the grief doesn't dissipate fast enough. And, it carries over to all of your characters. So you can't just log out and log in with another character to wait for grief to go away. The key to stopping this issue is to be more aware of you surroundings. If there are a lot of troops around on your team fire in bursts and make sure you are in a position where someone won't jump into your line of sight. Any who, I know what ya mean. When I have been grief locked I'be just logged out of the game for a while until it goes down. |

The grief system works fine but it can be a little flawed in regards to how much gay exponentially after you reach a certain amount.
Shoot a friendly MAX once with a deci and suddenly you're getting 20+ grief per shot on a friendly. I remember playing within the realm of 800-100 grief everyday for weeks back when I had my stock HP Pavilion from Kmart netting me 2 FPS in an average fight. Every time I shot a friendly once I'd have to run and hide somewhere for about 2 minutes until I could shoot again. I recommend logging off for a day or two to let your grief settle. Playing with high grief is infuriating but it teaches you to watch your fire and be more careful. |

Less spammy weapons, more support for a couple play sessions should reduce it. |

in the six years my account has been in place, ive been grieflocked exactly three times.
one was because i and others got drunk and decided to tk each other repeatedly the next was because i got sloppy with an mcg on tr the other time was because me and some outfitmates decided to lib bomb friendlies while drunk. recently got up to 580 grief killing a friendly max who had been killing friendlies and switching max armor at a terminal, so i had to call in backup to take the guy down. he was repeatedly rezzed and killed by others who he had killed. :indifferent: in general im super careful with where/who i shoot/os/otherwise do angry things to ingame. my suggestion is you cert lodestar/ams/buggies and drive/fly those and galaxies around for a few play sessions. oh and if that takes too long, leave your char logged in in sanc overnight with a watch or something to hold down the spacebar so you don't get booted.
