Step 1. Use the video out on your video card to send a signal to a VCR Step 2. Record footage Step 3. Use a video capture/TV tuner card to get it back into the computer for editing. Step 4. Edit your movie. If your unlucky enough not to have a video out on your card you can get a device called a video splitter. It basically splits the signal from your monitor and allows you to output a video signal to a VCR. |

I never use software capturing. It takes too much of your computer when you are trying to frag. Also, it never is as good as hardware capturing, which is easier anyhow. Recording a game on tape is much easier, because you can store SO much more, with such cheap media. For the editting part, Adobe is what I use. Fairly easy to once you get the hang of it, and fairly powerful. |

Omni which card do you recommend for higher quality? Do you have any samples? I'm always looking for ways to improve quality. |

My TV-Out card preference is the ATI All in Wonder series. The cards are can be problematic, but overall the TV-Out quality is superior then compared to any NVidia card. I personally have never been a HUGE fan of the TV Out on the back of the GeForces, thinking they are pretty sub-par for the card it represents. Anything though that you can do a direct digital connect to and from though, will generally have a much better quality. It varies from card to card, and brand to brand, which cards can do it well. |
