Gameplay: Drag a man/woman to safety? Be a real hero!

Remember in PS, when you were dead, sometimes it was hard for folks to rez you due to your position, well if you could drag the corpse to safety, then you could rez in reasonably safe areas. I really like this idea, but can imagine it will be hard to code at this time, due to the ragdoll bodies etc etc.

But nothing better in a battle than saving your team mates.

Of course dragging a body would result in you being open to fire as a counter. And your speed would be dramatically reduced. And even your field of view could be changed.

Edit*

Just read another post in the ideas forums about medics, and this could be linked to them only, meaning only medics can drag a corpse?

Other idea by Traak:

-make hud indicators so dead can see meds or advmeds on-screen

-make use of medics more advantageous than re-spawning

-make voice macros so medics can speak to local players more effectively

Something to get us t'gether with our "customers".

I looked in the PS2 idea vault and didn't find it, so I'm latching onto your post.

All infantry units except for MAX units should be able to drag corpses. Two infantry would be required to drag a MAX.

Get them out of the way and get them up - I would like to see this in PS2.

Yeah, it's in here somewhere. Still think it would be an interesting mechanic.

that would be sweet! The videos i could make with that! it would be a cool immersion effect and im sure it would make for a dramatic video story on PS2.
You're dragging your team mate through the grass while your squad is fending off the opposing infantry.

I support this idea fully!

what if instead of a rez grenade they implemented like a kind of robotic grabber thing like the grappling hook in just cause 2 and made it so you could pull your teammates to cover and rez them there

Doesn't even need to be as complicated as a grabber arm, the guys dead already so use a harpoon!

Tried to bring this up in Reddit (link here), but they didn't take too kindly to the idea.

Please read and reinforce.

It'll be kinda tought because draging someone for one is slow and 2 exposes yourself already. Odds are if the fight is that bad the rescuer will be going down too and now you got 2 down players. I was hopeing for say a negitive health bar if someone is down you can keep shooting them or fraging them to force a deconstruct.

Looks like a really, really great idea. But might be hard to realize, or to make the team accept that.

It's an interesting mechanic, but you're talking about Combat Medics, not just Medics. Hiding and doing things from safety isn't the only way to go. I'd rather just see medics get some kind of ranged rez, they talked about a rez grenade once.

Not being able to drag the body means you need cover. That includes crates, team mates, MAXs, Engi shields/turrets, vehicles, so many options for cooperation here.

I wouldn't bother, the Redditors are text block nazzies. And are very hard to please as they look for faults in everything. And you never get a decent reply from the good folks. You just don't get a reply lol!

I think this idea is dead, I didn't even know this thread was still going as I don't visit the ideas vault any more. But i think SOE have covered every area this idea could be implemented.

As above this idea is dead I think.

This is an awesome idea, it would really add to the immersion.

You should also be able to drag enemy corpses to get them away from their team and prevent them rezing.
