maybe it´s too early, but what kind of events do you want to see in ps2?
the other empiers vehicles events got old very soon ;-) my idea for such a fun event (maybe just once a year like on 4th of july): the stereotypes event! change all soldier models into barney the dinosaur, elmo from sesame street or a smurf. that would be fun for a day to shoot barneys and not only calling them so ;-) ans maybe just use one stereotype model for every class, so on this day you will not be able to tell if it´s just a medic elmo or a heavy assault, that is coming up the stairs! if players give good feedback on this event, do it again. if they dont like being unable to tell the classes apart, put icons on chest and back. like red cross, wrench, small gun, big gun and the like. we had xmas hats in the past, and it was just for fun. so this could be funny as well. |

When new equipment is developed make it into an event, for example:
The devs have been working on buggies, and rather than just implement them and everyone gets to use them make the empire that holds the most territory or particular base types (eg tech plants) for a certain amount of time gets to grab their buggy first, and after that the other empires get to either keep earning time until theirs are unlocked, or steal the plans from the winning empire and use theirs until they unlock their own. |

All player models change to PS1 versions hehe! Ground war only, (a virus could reek havoc and stop all vehicles from spawning) |

the copyright could be a problem, but i guess it would be no problem if they don´t use the original barney, smurf and elmo, but something very close to them. the players would understand the issue but would still realise what´s the intention of the event ;-)
as long as a person is short, blue and wears a white hat, i would recognise it as a smurf. and a purple smiling dino doesnt have to look exactly like barney to get the joke! |

The enemy vehicles/weapons event was old I. PS cost we could hack them, maybe this time rou d since it won't be that easy, having an event that lets the NC fly the scythe will provide some comedy as the we all crash each others planes.
And the stereotype even sounds like a blast.

My event idea: Dynamic Weather & Objectives (link)
We're destroying the planet! Save it! Game-wide temporary objective change.

Mein Got! i would love zombieside. Especially if it was sudden. Think of it like this, at a preset time unknown to the players, every player killed would also cause the generation of a "Zombie" ai player who would just try and kill everyone. You could have 10k zombies in fairly short order if it kicked in during an especially brutal base hold. would be especially nasty if you spawned the zombies some distance away from the action, so the mob had a couple minutes to grow into a horde before anyone figured out what was happening. Have it turn into a 2hour slaughterfest for all empires.
After that use Dev control to assign them basic objectives, like kill all life on Cyssor, with a brick. |

Events that limit vehicles (prob dont wanna remove em totally or you have to wayyyyy to much walking). But limiting them to transports or somethin would be cool. Or removing aircraft, or whatever, the ORIGINAL limits that the Battle Islands had before some idiot ruined em and changed it, would be cool. Infantry oriented events with only transports and/or buggies, no aircraft. Ones that favor aircraft and limit ground vehicles to only a few types. These of course are the obvious and easiest ones to implement. There are a ton more options tho, would prob need to see more how the game operates to come up with others tho.

Not sure how feasible it would be to do this one, but I had an idea once that it would be cool to see a Great Flood event. Water levels rise and change the landscape. Might make the VS a bit OP, but could be cool. On the flip side, you might also remove all the water.
One of the greatest times I've ever had in Planetside was the 1st monolith event. That thing was so epic, the compeition was great, and that last battle on the last day really made it. the VS were mathmatically out of it, so they joined forces with the TR and were literally fighting shoulder to shoulder. After some initial disbelief and rage, the NC ended up fighting that much harder and it was the most emotionally charged battle I was ever in. The VS/TR truce was short lived, and even though the NC lost the event, it still felt like a victory, and perhaps it was for everyone that played. |

I personally wouldn't want something that totally kills the fluff/simulation of the world, like the stereotype event.
Zombies? Ehh, maybe, if they developed some kind of backstory behind it that made sense (Vanu ancient technology is my first thought, of course.) As for fluff-accurate events that introduce new gear and vehicles? That sounds perfect to me! -CroW |
