★★★★★ Vote Up! The existence of alien life is proven. It spawned Earth's unity and evolution. The question of these intelligent alien's nature is unknown - they are never-seen never-known. Their Warpgates suggest incredible intelligence. Wormhole 1 scans Earth's solarsystem suggest Wormholes are these alien explorers, and Wormhole 2 explosion may have been accident for Wormhole 3's alien's Search & Rescue to appear. Auraxis (New Earth?) Warpgates and alien settlements suggest alien industrial plans for Auraxis, which is for the special brain-power substance the Vanu Sovereignty worship. Hindered by Human colonizing the planet, isolated from their Earth-roots, the xeno-aliens fear Human's powerful and chaotic nature who've seemingly embraced alien technology already and Auraxium. Especially in Auraxis's (New Earth's?) circumstances, Auraxis is quicksand for any alien militarized action.
Interesting Gameplay-related part: war The many theories of the planet's alien Warpgates may suggest alien industrial plans. Human colonization scared them away??? The war on Auraxis has tempered them. Their industrial plans of the unique material the Vanu Sovereignty exploit is being spoiled. Their world is being harvested by Humans for Humanity's primitive nature and they dislike it being wasted! Upon contact some many many years later, they explain everything to everyone through Vanu Sovereign leaders to the world. The aliens wish to trade if not just take the Auraxium from the planet.
Whatever the Vanu Sovereignty believed of the artifact(s), they were defied and curbed their original beliefs and faiths (not so-much religious either). Vanu Sovereignty's stark wisdom of human evolution is defiled by the alien's imposing against VS's whole human culture, and so those VS refuse co-operation naturally and rightfully so. TR may be more ambiguous whilst prepared for war whereas NC went all selfish, confused & disgruntled, and I guess submissive. ALIENS THREATEN EMBARGO. ALIENS THREATEN EARTH. A NEW THREAT PARTICIPATES ON AURAXIS! THE ALIEN (NPC) WAR! ★ Gameplay: Alien Incursion Last edited by Tikuto; 2012-01-27 at 05:53 AM. |

Planetside 2 is a PvP game. There is no rule that says a PvP game can't have ai controlled enemies. They just can't be the focus of the game or else it can no longer be called a PvP game. I don't really want ai enemies to ever become the focus of the game, but I personally have no objection to their inclusion in some minor capacity. You can disagree all you want, but in the end it will come down to what the devs want to do and possibly what the majority of the playerbase wants. I'd be fine either way myself. Again, just so long as they weren't the focus of the gameplay. An environmental hazard that gave you no XP for killing, or a temporary event where you had to fend of huge swarms would be fine by me. As long as your day to day Planetside 2 experience still centered around nothing more than the 3 empires fighting it out with entirely human controlled armies. |

I had in-mind that they'd only appear during extra-long weekly periods of Below Average Off-Peak Populations. This way it wouldn't distract from the game too much and will substitute low online-player populations. This makes it rare and understandable game addition. The feeling of emptiness in PlanetSide 1 was awful.
Key game-changing thing: They take a whole continent from which all 3-Empires becomes responsible for taking it back. Such thing could be even more rare, though. Last edited by Tikuto; 2012-11-17 at 08:28 AM. |

Most likely the Devs might play as the aliens...
The unfortunate drama of this concept hasn't changed in the sequel; in fact they've made it worse. Now there is a legitimate reason for humans to explore the Wormhole following Pluto's destruction by this alien race, but since nobody's ever seen these aliens the very existence of them as BSG-like, ominous "God" entities isn't actually helping people from a gameplay perspective. If you're going to have them, then do so as a Metagame that makes at least some sense. If not, don't create such presence with them where they never put in an appearance, or they're just an unwated annoyance that debunk the game as governments do in real life. Really, having a Vanu Max hurtling towards me spewing god-knows-what from it's hands is gonna be bad enough. Concept work for them is friggin scary. I don't need actual aliens. Would be kinda cool to be able to loot their civilization for benefits though.

How about anyone caught obviously cheating by Sony has NPC's that drain his credit card, over and over, while they mob his avatar, all slobbering and shrieking, smearing green alien goo in his eyes, and forcing his avatar to be very hard to move, naturally having to do the Humpty Hump unless he keeps forcing it to walk and go where he wants. By the time he realizes what he has done, his credit card has lost a few hundred dollars, all billed to "Online child animal horrible OMG whatever is illegal and taboo in your country" sites.
Yeah, NPC's can be cool. |

Would prefer if when they get to "other planets" during the 3 year plan that they incorporate different game play methods for those planets. I'm sure there will be quite a few PS2 players that would love to play Left 4 Dead or feel like a Starship Trooper on a grander scale... with 2 other player controlled enemy factions in the mix. But again, this should be on an off world with objectives not centered around base capture, but maybe a sort of king-of-the-hill or capture the flag purpose.
If modules make a return, I would hope they'd be on worlds with strong primal and hostile alien/zombie presences anyway. Not only do we have to fight through a horde of mindless beasts to get a powerful upgrade, then fight our way back to an LZ and hold until the drop ship arrives, but we're also racing/fighting against the other empires. |
