I'd personally love a glowing Force Blade for the Vanu as a memory back to Planetside before it got patched out. I miss that thing I would really like to see some unique armour and vehicle colours too and maybe a unique title.

I... don't know if there WILL be a Collector's Edition, seeing as the game is free to play. However, if there was, (or, perhaps more realistically, there could be an "Elite Status" that you buy for like, a one-time purchase of $30), I would like the following:
1. You earn double XP all the time, forever (this is the same as Global Agenda's elite-status option). 2. Your leveling progresses twice as fast (or perhaps, you always benefit from the "online and active" version of leveling, whether or not you are actually online). 3. You are in a special class of buyers, such that, if you wanted to spend Station Cash on any cosmetic/convenience/booster items, you (and only Elites like you) would be eligible for various discounts and promotions on certain purchases or bundles of purchases. I would absolutely buy a feature like this, even if it cost the original $50 for the game. However, I'm not sure that Sony will have a feature like this. League of Legends does sell experience boosters, but there is no option for a permanent one (the way Global Agenda has). No matter what, I am excited about this damn game ~Zachariah |

1. An big artbook. I love the ones Blizzard always have.
2. Exclusive ingame content only obtainable via the CE. Such as special skins for your armor, weapons and vehicles. And also exclusive armor designs for every faction. 3. A soundtrack on disc. They could also add a code so you can download the soundrack via iTunes or something else. 4. I suppose they are going the way LZachariah says. So when you buy the CE you get instant ''elite'' status (or what they are going to call it) for double XP etc. 5. 1.000 station cash 6. A Planetside 2 poster. 7. The game itself in a steelbook case 8. A fabric patch of every faction logo. 9. Everything packaged in a box such as this: http://images.pricerunner.com/produc...-s-Edition.jpg I really hope we get an Collectors Edition. Even through the game is going F2P, I don't see a problem getting this on the market. Just do a CE only and no normal edition, for the real PlanetSide fans. SOE could sell the above for around 40 to 50 €/$ i think. Last edited by bjorntju1; 2011-12-25 at 02:43 PM. |

Not really.
It would be selling power if two players of equal skill, one at lvl 10 and one at lvl 20, always resulted in the higher level player winning. Planetside 2 is a skill based game, not a level based RPG. It generally has sidegrades instead of upgrades for most things. Selling weapons that are slightly stronger in some areas, but weaker than others, or boosting XP so that players can unlock some of those things quicker, won't disrupt the fact that a skilled player will easily be able to take out an unskilled player, no matter how few toys the skilled player has and how many the unskilled player has. But some people have their own personal definitions of selling power, so if XP boosts of the kind I described constitutes selling power in your mind, then Planetside 2 will almost undoubtedly be selling power from that point of view. So an XP boost wouldn't really be off the table as an option for a collectors edition, if it's already a likely cash shop purchase. I'm not sure I'd go for that as part of a collectors edition though. I'd definitely go for any of the art or behind the scenes type stuff. I love that kind of thing. |

XP boost isn't selling power. It selling to skip grind. Everyone can and will achieve the same stuff without paying a dime, they just have to play more than the one who bought xp boosts.
Pay2win would be buying something that is more powerful than the stuff obtained in-game.

Enjoy having those $100 worth of aircraft upgrades shot down by a brand new character with an AA gun. People just have to stop thinking about MMOFPSs the way they think of MMORPGs. The only things they inherently share are massive persistent environments, and large numbers of players. |
