Motion Comic Idea?

I did this on my lab-top which has no effects. Once I get back to my dorm I think I could do more... But I can only do with the screenshots out now. Once the PS2 actually comes out I'll be able to whip up something really cool.

I already have a few halo ones that are 40% complete.

It'd be totally awesome to have those kinds of comics for different bits of lore within PS2 itself. (One can only expect tooltips and explanations with lore coming up for recently joined players, like for instance when they see an equipment terminal for the first time. Those bits of lore are the ones I'm talking about.) We can all edit them to be part of PSU's Wiki.

That said, I'm not an artist, and that already is above my head, so great job man!

Looks very nice. Reminds me a bit of the Guild Wars 2 cinematic style, which is definitely a positive. Keep it up!

Thanks all!

I was thinking of making a few videos similar to EVE onlines. Where it gives you the 30 second rundown of the empire your character is apart of.

Might be best to wait until I can gather screen-shots with angles of my own choosing...

That would save you a TON of time.

That's close but needs more; a motion comic is an animated feature where there is enough activity to not make a character(s) in the scene look like they're standing still. This test more resembles a flash animation ad you would see on a game website.

I know EA tried to pull off things with Dead Space and C&C4 Tiberian Twilight and at least they had some semblance of "inertia" -- well, the latter's probably didn't have nearly as much bristling enthusiasm as the former, but there you go.

Interresting.

Now we need someone to draw a good chunk of pictures, some voice actors, and then we can do the story in pictures.

I was inspired by these videos

I'm a pretty big halo nerd so I decided to make one of my own. It's more mindless action, It's almost complete. I'll post it up when it's done.

Re: Motion Comic Idea?

Hmmmm... I already have scripts for 3 action packed episodes in my head.

In short:
1st episode. VS pilot, on a mission to intercept the Galaxy escort. VS airforce gets destoyed. (Air combat)
2nd episode. TR hotdropper of the said Galaxy emergency dropping on a Conglomerate's base. Assault fails. (Outdoor combat)
3rd episode. NC defender of the said base, fighting against VS. Defence gets breached. (Indoor combat)

3 episodes that have secret promotional purposes, explaining 3 of the most beloved combat conditions of PlanetSide.

EDIT: The VS-TR-NC order can be changed any way you want.

EDIT: I have 3 songs in mind for that, they describe the mood perfectly.

EPISODE 1.
EPISODE 2.
EPISODE 3.
EPISODE 4.

We can flesh out the details once the game comes out.

Also if we do decide to go through with some episodes I can send them to Machinima.com.
