what does TTK mean?

I see it everywhere but nobody ever feels the need to explain what it means

Time to kill. As in how fast a player can kill another player.

People use obscure abbreviations all the time on these boards, gotta do research.

it might be obscure to people who play farmville, not an FPS though.

Come on guys,

while the OP could definitely have searched on the forum/google/internet... There is no point to make them feel even more awkward for asking a legitimate question.

Maybe he is a teen, maybe PS-Universe is the first FPS forum he actively participates in, maybe he did try to search but with no success, etc...

Sky, I'm actually surprised you did not start the troll machine and explain FPS.

As the others mentionned, it's because most of us already know about its meaning and maybe just no one asked. IMO, you could always send a PM or ask in the thread where you see the abbreviation being used so that people can help you better.

Hai OP, ignore above snobery... siriously

I saw this and decided to have a little fun ... I asked in a room of 15 people who do this for a living if they knew the abriviation TTK ...

....6/15

As a metric its much to simplified and is intended for use as an abstract idea, to ballance diffrences in damage resistances between diffrent life types.

Try to play nice folks =)

I wonder if it is a figure of speech.

Even though the first reply in this thread completely answered the question, I want to post too.

Personally I googled TTK when I didn't know what it meant.

One of the reasons i like these boards is because everyone is nice to each other, and there isn't any trolling and flaming. At least no where near as much as other places.

Can we please keep that? Half the replies in this thread really didn't need to be worded the way they were.

Someone asked a polite question, lets give him and polite reply and not act like cunts.

OT: As has been mentioned, TTK is the time it takes to kill a certain player with a gun assuming all the bullets hit. The TTK is PS1 was pretty long, where as in Couter Strike its pretty much the blink of an eye.
