Body size and stature.

I'm personally wondering about it recently, so want to hear other's opinions about this topic.

How much change in body size/stature can we make when creating characters, without breaking/affecting the combat balance?

I doubt we can do any of that. Someone was freaking out here recently because females were apparently 6 ft tall, just as the male character model was.

Any noticeable difference would affect animations as well.

And hitboxes.

Anyways: Maxsuits don't seem to be one size fits all...

Hmm.... So, the only way we are able to make changes about this is when changing suit type, right?

I'm fine with that

I'd implement a slider for height.. anywhere from 5'8 to 6'4".

Obviously, the 6'4 guys would be slightly larger targets. They'd get a buff in some way. Maybe a bit more ammo, or a few more hitpoints.

And just so people cannot bitch about it at all, you can change your height at a biolab.

A muscularity slider would also be great.

And i'd like to see you able to pick from like 10 different walk/run cycles. This is something that games virtually never do, and would actually have the least impact on any sort of balance.

So basically fluff that involves a lot of animation work?

Then I'll pick a character that does moonwalking.

Come now! They don't have time to add buggies, do you think they will add such nonsence? Maybe in a few years, in one of PS2's clones.

QFT

This isn't a RPG. They do not need to moon walk or be midgets or w/e. Keep them the same size. This is a FPS not WoW. If you want all that extra crap there are plenty of other games out there for you.

Human race is getting taller, kinda makes sense that everyone's 6ft 2".

Character customisation would be cool but it would affect balance, not as much as people think it would but it still would.

An ammo/HP buff? Are you out of your mind?

The human race practically balanced themselves FOR you! Taller people RUN FASTER and usually can JUMP HIGHER, while shorter people usually don't run as fast or jump as high, but can hide a little better. Done.

I'm not gonna be happy 'till character models range from Yao Ming to the hunchbak of Notre Dame.
