There should be some sort of officially supported group of squad leaders who can show newbies the ropes with out them having to join in an outfit asap so they dont feel forced to join the first outfit that passes them by to get any kind of support.
Maybe a special nametag and colour as well as some sort of list to keep track of them so new players can easily see what newbie squads are running at that time. The fist batch should be chosen from a list of volunteers during beta so there are people ready to help the new players during launch. I dont personally think that these players should get any kind of reward for doing this other than the recognition of the nametag and maybe a thanks page or somthing on the website or somewhere... Thoughts ? |

Most of the people usually skip tutorials. It took me 1 hard year to teach all of my friends (those playing games) to do the explaining missions in any game despite the simplicity. Too much players just dislike being taught basics without realising, that some basics are required to learn the advanced stuff..

The key thing here though is that it will be officially supported within the game itself, and will suggest to new players once they have completed the tutorial to seek these newbie squads out so they can get the best experiance of the game as fast as possible.
This will reach far more players than just a list on the forums. |
