In the stream of xp Higby got at the bottom of his screen he was occasionally hit with Player kill critical assist. Critical Assist? Have those ever been put together before? So maybe the person who did the most dmg to the target gets the crit (xp bonus)? Or a random chance?
One also said Vehicle Destruction critical assist. To me this emphasizes you're getting xp for destroying the vehicle, not the player. So killing a bailer's vehicle will still be rewarding. Capture Zones: 73? Some are only 1 hex, some are 4 or 5. I would say the bases in PS2 seem MUCH larger then PS1, and the smaller structures are more frequent and varied in size.

i liked the look of what they showed.
I remember someone saying at the start that killstreaks would be included. I mean i think that is long gone, but i like the thought of racking up 15 kills in a row and being able to use an orbital strike. I just hope the battles dont become a mess. I mean alot of that was staged, with people faking combat but it looked pretty hectic even with that small amount of players. I hope there is room for real strategy and planning, i want to be able to lock down and hold an area with good communication and skill. One thing worth mentioning, Heavy Armour soldiers seemed to drop as quick as any other? And i assume MAX's will switch things up and change the pace of combat? |

So what happend to drop pods for that awful squad spawning thing? He was magically instantly appearing next to people repeatedly. Talk about killing gameplay. This is not a braindead zerg shooter, we have frontlines and spawn points to take out etc. Magical instant spawns right on the front line is completely retarded. And dont give me the "he has to spec for it" you dont "spec" for crap in ps2 despite what he says, its unlocks. (other than vehicle/weapon/solider set ups of course which are the only custom aspects) You give up nothing, you arent specializing, you just eventually unlock it. There is no cap to unlocks, you can eventually unlock everythign in the game and have it all at the same time, that by definition is not specialization or a "spec". Every single squad leader who isnt brand new to the game will have it.
Its too bad, having the ability to actually specialize woulda been very cool. So you could have squad spawns (with actual drop pods), on a decent timer of course. But you would give up some other cool things to get it. But oh well the unlock thing works better for their free to play design, just not as interesting for overall gameplay. Really hope beta tones that awful mechanic down big time and puts in drop pods and a timer. Dont mean to sound so negative, the rest of the video was awesome. Although i do miss the vehicle exit/enter animations. Seemed cheesy and lame and felt fake without em.

Waiting for the return of the superior, real PS style teamwork oriented vehicles with drivers not gunning, and in fixed vehicle slots so we can once again have real, epic, vehicle battles where the tanks actually move in combat rather than a silly 1700's era line up and shoot.
