I can't quite decide whether I'm looking for genuine discussion or just being a childish brat with this one.
I've said in other threads that the TR/NC aren't looking futuristic enough and we already have a non-PS-player thinking they were mistaken about this being set in the future. Thoughts? Do non-VS aesthetics need some "futurizing"? |

They are pretty utilitarian. Seems to fit their style, them being all official. Could do with some pimping like the visor being a screen (your HuD actually looks like it's on the visor) and just small things that look a bit more future-y.

If its not obvious that you are fighting in the future, by the fact that you are being shot at with giant lasers and your crosshairs are being trained on a a flying tank or a guy whizzing around on jump jets, well... then... just don't try and join the special intelligence force.
Seriously, the greater the differences between the three outfits, the more people this game will appeal to, imo. |

You could tell that guy that hover vehicles take energy to make it work and that tanks are too small to justify nuclear/fission/whatever futuristic method of energy-production on the vehicle.
Vanu are the exception 'cause we got tips from Vanu himself. Yup, we're connected to the true creator of worlds just like that. If he still causes you trouble, tell him what powers Vanu tanks is VS faith. We have plenty to use/waste/share/beam/etc... And that's why Vanu is the future. |

TBH I don't think there is much to change with the other empires to give them a more future feel without hurting vanu. Other then adding really weird sounds and obnoxious neon led strips to everything for a more tron feel.

One nice aspect of the variety in factions, those who like modern stuff can pick NC and those wanting somethin just near future looking, aka army of 2042, can snag TR, those who like the more alien/super futuristic look can go VS.
Besides, who says the world doesnt go to crap between now and then and we get thrown back big time tech wise, religious revolutions have thrown us back big time several times in the past, a major war or worldwide disaster could do the same making this stuff futuristic by those standards. Plus, its just cooler having the variety and it all works well in the end. =)

Waiting for the return of the superior, real PS style teamwork oriented vehicles with drivers not gunning, and in fixed vehicle slots so we can once again have real, epic, vehicle battles where the tanks actually move in combat rather than a silly 1700's era line up and shoot. |

The TR have newer stuff up to date, but still military style The Vanu are just so much further ahead in combat concepts and design of there weapons. Someone thats new to Planetside needs to understand that. |
