Bases - Faction distinction?

I was watching the videos from the GDC just and I noticed that the bases didn't really have a very faction distinct looks unless I missedit, in the original PS when you were in base or tower, you knew who it belonged to.
The whole place changed colours and the factions flags / symbols appeared.

Just wondering if PS 2 was going to keep to a similar theme and display overtly display the current base ownership.

Flags, paintwork and holographs?

There was a big red line going around most of the buildings marking them as TR. As the NC pushed the TR back and started capturing some of them the stripes turned blue. I didn't see any flags with faction symbols though.

must have missed that bit, just posted this up as I was watching the bonus footage after the NC took the base and I thought all the lines remained red

Just went and looked, they do stay red, so idk. Guess that isnt added in yet.

Yeah, the definitely need to get faction distinction in the game.

It was awesome capturing a base or tower and seeing all the terminals change to your empires colors, as well all the holographic flags that were outside. Cool little stuff like that means a whole lot.

Well, as a colorblind guy, even I hope they change color. But yes please, do some flags too... and it would be tits if they even had an animation of a flagpole with the flag rising to draw your eyes to a symbolic conquest...

Think the doorshields of the spawn building changed colour.

Could be something the art team is still working on. Seems a lot if not all of the buildings are from the "Nano Systems" company anyway.

Besides a change in colour there should also be a change in Empire decal. But I expect TRay would say "we got this".

Yeah, it appears all the outposts and facilities we're fighting over are Nanite System structures. Some more faction distinction would definitely be a plus though.

What would be really neat, is if there were faction specific bases. Imagine a VS themed base, really ornate, purple, probably glows. That would be stellar.

Or an NC base, it would just be made out of garbage and mud

This is a definite need but I would put this on hold until we get into beta and see if in fact it's not or it is there.

I would love to see flags and banners and holograms and other faction flair gradually pop-up the longer you hold a facility. Whether a base has been held for hours, days, or weeks, it should be apparent by the number of faction emblems seen around the area.
And mayhaps proportionate resource-bonuses, so people will have more reason to defend their established homes.

Give people faction spray decals and let them go nuts. The bases will clearly belong to one side or the other in 30 seconds.

I'm joking, obviously, that would be a horrible idea.
