So, I picked up the current issue of PC Gamer for the delightful coverage of Evan's hands-on.
Now, we all know that there are codes that pledge to grant some kind of preferred access to the beta, whenever that launches. We've also been told in the past that Planetside 1 veterans will be afforded privileged access to the beta, as well. So, given that I was a day 1 PlanetSide player whose subscription has been on and off since (but is not current) -- any devs or PR folks have any advice on whether I should apply the key to my account, or will it be better used if I pass it on to a buddy and trust my veteran status to get me in around the same time or earlier? Note that I'm not looking for solid dates or anything, just a sense of whether the key from the PCG would be a significant benefit to my account or not. |

Its been said that Veterans and PCG Key holders will be 'in the first waves' of beta invites. Thats about all thats been said. I'm a little scared of the wording used by 'priority keys' though. We shall see. |

My understanding of the order of precedence:
1) PC Gamer Keys / Fan Fare Players 2) PS Active Subscribers 3) Any past PS Subscriber 4) All other Beta sign ups But don't fret. They are going to need a lot of people to beta test this game and the first 3 I listed will probably get in almost right away and fill about half of what they need. Don't hold me to this though- because I'm just wildly guessing. |

I mean it's logical to assume that those PC gamer people already HAVE a key.... so they're going to get in soon/first? Supporting the new game isn't a bad thing. But I can't imagine the current PS subs would be far behind.. there just isn't THAT many of them - and I'm not trying to sound negative about it there are just not as many as there used to be.

It's more logical to assume that they'll send out beta keys to previous subscribers, let everyone register, and then for each beta wave they'll randomly select from the pool. That keeps it fair and impartial.
It's fair to assume that media sources will be the only ones that get guaranteed keys and that everyone else will be random, getting admittance as and when they expand the beta size, which will more than likely be in stages as they further stress test. |

I used to play PS1 years ago.
When I got my PCG key I logged in first and the account listed PS2 as inactive. Tossed my key into the machine and it changed the PS2 to Active. Then again I do not have an active, current subscribed, PS1 account. Last edited by Kran De Loy; 2012-03-14 at 12:39 AM. |

But thanks to the guys who've redeemed keys for sharing their findings, that's at least a little more info. |
