Hello!
It's your friendly neighborhood delta78. You know me? Of course you don't! Now to the point: I've made this thread because i'm interested in hearing what people will or would listen when battling in PS2. I'll make an example how you should post the things you'd or will be doing and to what music you'd or will be listening. Example: -When i'm driving a tank in a big armored strike force in the desert continent i will definitely listen to Panzer Battalion ( link: ). -When i'm deep in the enemy lines and territories, the song i will listen is Ghost division ( link: ). -When we are attacking a base, which is heavily fortified, the absolute song for this moment will be Primo Victoria ( link: ). And while we are at the brink of capturing it - Attero dominatus ( link: ). -When i'm defending a post against a very big attacking army - 40:1 ( link: ) or I stand alone, if i'm really defending it alone :P ( link: ). And of course, when TR maniacs start to own everyone on the continent ... I'll just give you the link ( link: ). Oh one more i promise - When i feel like owning everyone on the battlefield - . And last, not least: 4 ever! |

I'm not sure I really agree with any of those fitting the moods of those events particularly, but fair enough. Here's my addition.
Riding in galaxies on the way to an enemy facility with 5-10 other gals completely loaded awaiting a basedrop. EDIT: Additionally, for a tank column, something along the lines of Hans Zimmer Or, if you really want that metal, you have to shoot better than that. Charge of the light brigade parts fit very nicely. EDIT 2: Pretty much anything by Einaudi fits the one man last stand theme. Picture this playing, with the bullets flying all around, the situation is hopeless, you're all alone, you know you're dead, it's just a matter of how long you can stave it off. That moment that last 10 seconds but feels like a lifetime as it all slows down to nothing, you think incredibly fast but it could never be fast enough, every intricate detail of what happens is etched into your mind, the bullets, the explosions, the chaos. The futility as you expend your last bullet into the hopeless onslaught. EDIT 3: Ecstacy of gold pretty much goes with absolutely ANY absolutely awesome moments of incredibleness. It can literally fit anything at all. It's also the manliest song on the planet and playing it loud on headphones will make anyone feel fucking awesome as it builds up and up throughout into that incredible power. Huge tank charges, infantry, air, forming everyone up into their gals in base, having an epic firefight, it fits everything. You could go for the metallica version, but it's nowhere near as powerful and they butchered it really. Last edited by Skitrel; 2012-03-23 at 06:52 AM. |

Sabaton is great.
As for myself, I never listen to music while playing, mostly cos I rarely play alone so that I wouldnt need to hear and focus of VoiP

I prefer to listen to the environment to get an edge over the enemy (footstep, shots, vehicle sounds etc). Only when grinding in MMOs do I listen to music/radio as it gets boring.

Missed one. TR soundtrack is blatantly Red Alert's Hell March. Fuck... Nostalgia overload on this one.
I like this thread, I've collected a tonne of music for future video editing. I needed a list anyway. |

That said, I have to link a few songs I've been looping the fuck out of lately.

when i happen to pwn the same vs again and again, i will sing this very loud...
when i throw myself into the meatgrinder and run with the zerg, this will be the hatesong of choice for me: (too bad we cannot piggyback pogo ingame when we are waiting for the big fleet of enemy galaxys while entrenched in a base, knowing we all gonna die: too bad most of you will not understand a single word of the german lyrics ;-)

Well I don't listen to metal, the genre that really has the market cornered on epic war songs, but here it goes.
Some classic Dead Kennedys to kill NC hobos to. And some good pump up music |

Very interesting and cool choices for music, though i didn't understand a word from the German videos .
Ah the good, the bad and the evil ... brings some memories and i think it would be awesome to listen to it , while charging to your enemies! Yeah the hell march is perfectly made for TR! Hmmm, is there an epic marching song for VS as well? |

I'm pretty much always listening to music. Either I select something from my music collection, or I listen to one of my Pandora stations.
