I haven't heard or seen this mentioned yet.
In PS1 (if i remember correctly) you could talk to anyone in any empire. Is this going to remain in PS2 or have they gone the route of all other MMOs and will not allow cross faction chat. If it hasn't been decided on yet, would you keep the old PS1 system or restrict chat to your empire only. I like being able to talk to players on enemy factions for a few reasons. One of them is that I know a lot of people that will be on VS that I would like to talk to from time to time. The other reason, and the more obvious reason, is that smack talk in an FPS is a great way to get the enemy flustered and create further competition other than just killing the color that you aren't wearing.

The only way you had to communicate with the other empires was via tells, and via a few V-V voice macros. Local chat, means the white stuff, wasnt cross empire.
And they should reproduce exactly that. |

I always had the impression PS1 chatting was similar to Everquest.
I agree with having cross-empire tells. I also think they should have Everquest's ad hoc text chat channel creation. i.e., you can type /join Letscybor if you wanted to and anyone can join it(can also be passworded by typing /join letscybor: thenpassword). And EQ also lets you customize and open new chat windows, so people could use these ad hoc chat channels for attack coordination. Last edited by Stardouser; 2012-03-25 at 11:55 AM. |
