can't connect

during the game loading, it disconnects me with a propt and then suddenly kicks me to the desktop...
wierd... i'm the only one?

Login progress:
connecting...

15 seconds under 25% of the progressbar and then "Disconnected" prompts. i press ok and i'm back to desktop.

oh i did not see the notice...

The PlanetSide servers will go offline Monday, March 26th at 7AM PT in order to upgrade existing hardware. Downtime is anticipated to be approximately 24 hours and end at 7 AM PT March 27th. We will keep everyone updated as much as possible during the maintenance and appreciate your patience.
24 hours downtime? sniff

Seems strange they're upgrading the hardware for a game with such a small population....

Gonna call it now, a reactivation promotional event to get people pumped for planetside 2.

that's exactly what i was thinking...
why ugrade now? unless they expect the ps2 beta to indirectly bring people to play again? so this could mean PS1 is really going f2p...or lowered rate?
Remember those 2011 higby's screens with those PS names on it?
I'm talking about those "planetsidex" and "planetsidewarfare" names...are they related to a free to play version of planetside 1...?

They are taking the hamster out to the shed to make way for the Planetside 2 server cluster.

This only takes a few minutes, but Gemini gets angry when they move her enclosure and refuses to resume running until sufficiently placated

Coming from a sysadmin standpoint, they probably shut down the last old gen server that PS1 was running on and threw Gemini on one of the new PS2 servers.

I think the server's been moved to West Coast because i normally had 112 ping from the UK and it's now 170-200.
