Do you use a sound card? If not you may want to look into these.

I'm saving up to get some Logitec G35s. Usually can see them for around $100. Also sort of looking at the Tritton TRI-GA611.

I have the Logitech G35 set, which I got after getting frustrated at headphones simply not lasting more than 6 months of use.
These are going strong, although I do wish I had seen the wireless version and gone for that one. The wire is strong, long and sturdy (yeah yeah, whatever), but it gets in the way at times. |

Yep, Logitech G35's here too.
They're amazing, I'd highly recommend them. But yeah, the cable is super strudy and long, but it can be a proper pain in the arse at times.

I have a Corsair vengeance 1500 but the only other headset I could compare it to is the Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000 and that would be like shit and chocolate...
It sounds great to me and although at first it felt a bit heavy and not entirely comfortable at the top of my skull I got rather used to it and barely notice it anymore Has anyone tried both the 1500 and the G35? (or the G930) One probably overlooked feature of the G35 is that it doesn't have that control thingie in the middle of the cable, instead it's integrated into the outer side of the left speaker. I absolutely loath those things so that's my biggest regret about choosing the 1500 Last edited by FastAndFree; 2012-04-02 at 12:05 PM. |

Surround Sound Headphones are crap. Simple as.
A decent sound card with 3d surround and a good pair of Stereo Head Phones is a lot better. You will get a more "true" depth surround sound this way considering that the "speakers" in surround headphones are too close together. |

I'd suggest not getting surround sound headphones.

Thats my opinion too actually. I tend to just stick with the regular kind and make use of a sound card. I used to have a 5.1, but I never noticed the difference tbh and the sound quality is better now.

The Vengenace 1500 is a virtual surround headset, it only has one driver in each earcup. I think the G35 is the same
So in essence they are stereo headphones that have the surround virtualization integrated instead of leaving it to the soundcard (or rather, they have their own soundcard) |
