Now that dedicated drivers seem to be a real possibility with the latest FPS Guru interview, I was just thinking of something they could add as part of that cert, or maybe after it.
In PS1, when I was driving a tank, I would have loved to have a video feed on my HUD showing me exactly what the gunner was looking at. It would have been so much easier to line up shots for your gunner, or to see if and when additional threats appeared when you were facing away from what your gunner was firing at. As much as they brag about Forgelight, I've gotta believe this is possible. Anyone else think they should give it a try? |

Yeah, a trade-off like the other customizations could work as well, though I think I would prefer it just be a cert that you get access to after you get the dedicated gunner cert they've been talking about.

I hope that this kind of thing is possible in forgelight - it wasn't in the original from what I understand.
One thing I would like related to this is squad leaders able to check out the view from their troops, or possibly just stealth troops. |

As a dedicated driver I felt the opposite. The gunners should see what the driver sees. How often it happened that our 12 o'clock had an infantry nest, or an AMS, enemy armour and the gunner is zoomed in for something 300 meters away and no matter what you spam, they refuse to check the front.

But then I remembered there is vehicule voice chat in PS2, which should be enough to deal with that problem. And if the gunner still don't give a shit about what you tell him, well... Kick him out and get another one. I like the video feed idea from the gunner to the driver, if it comes as a cert & customization, so he can effectively choose how and where to drive. |
