Here is what I think should be in the outfit package, I would pay for this...
1. Outfit name... of course. 2. Outfit emblem distinction, probably in already. 3. Robust outfit rank structure... *a. Large pool of definable ranks. *b. Mouseover rank description, to explain outfit-specific rank responsibilities. *c. Ranks with definable permanencies, ie. some ranks last a certain duration (1hr, 1day...), that revert to previous rank, for brevets. *d. Rank permissions for join, kick, promote, demote, warnings, accolades, with specificity to each rank (or department) it can effect, rank by rank. 4. Time defined warning system ("red status" can fade after a while to lower color state... etc.) via color and/or sound alarm, and hidden message box for warning content. 5. Member accolade system via color, merit badge, or some-such outfit visable item, with a time-defined termination period, to include permanent. Perhaps tied into an outfit banner message system (item 13 below). 6. Outfit graphics such as emblem on vehicles and uniforms, special defined uniform colors, and perhaps uploaded outfit rank insignias. 7. Member resume, a small mousover blurb about whatever the member wishes to say, which can give officers an idea of their goals. 8. Outfit billboard for advertising who we are, and... an outfit welcomeboard for important reminders, a "start kit" for new members, and expectations, etc. 9. Outfit voice chat... that works good... 10. Definable departments / divisions to distiguish members for various outfit-specific reasons "armor branch", "motor pool", "retired officers"... whatever. This can be done by color or whatever, but needs a readable key to be plainly understood. 11. A culling tool, by warnings accumulated, or inactivity, etc. Also governed by permissions use. 12. Outfit cert tree, this is just mentioned for thoroughness, its already in I believe... but there needs to be recert functionality. 13. Outfit broadcast banner, a quick message from permissioned members to broadcast a center banner for a quick necessary message. 14. A suggestion box (that can be disabled, and emptied), with an member selected anonymity option. 15. Some like the idea of a mothership / base, so I mention for thoroughness. Thats what I got for now... but this is not just my show, jump in if you have good / better ideas. I couldnt care less about credit, just a great outfit suite... Edit: Perhaps a "Table of Organization" visual, that can be pulled up to assign, and view, members affiliation with whatever department / grouping. Complete with the NCO(s) and officer(s) in charge, as a simple rank-descending list for simplicity. Last edited by Grognard; 2012-04-18 at 11:50 PM. |

but the the game really isent free to play. this a a social game if you put up a barrier for people to fourm groups or make them pay for things that should be standard for outfits then it takes away from the player base. if a player is going to spend the money to create an outfit then he has already decided to spend the money on the game. dont you think he would rather have skins instead of just paying for a group.

#9 - any worthwhile outfit can afford its own TS/Vent/skype server/channel.
#15 - i used to think this was a good idea, until I considered the nature of some groups and how bases affect things. Then It became a terrible idea. Last edited by p0intman; 2012-04-19 at 07:35 PM. |

I think items 3, 5, 10, and other similar features could be included for free but have a paid premium version that allows more variety.
Frankly, I don't think the more casual F2P gamers are going to want all this flexibility. Or rather, I think they'd have a more enjoyable experience without too many options (in a lot of games guilds, clans, outfits, whatever suffer from having tiny "on a whim" groups that have far too complex ranking systems and motds etc. and honestly are more annoying than fun to be in) People who are serious about running outfits will pay for more premium packages. That being said, some of this stuff should definitely be in the game for free (except the bases/motherships) They are planning on putting in a [working] VoIP feature. That said, I'm sure most outfits will opt for the standalone option. Last edited by FredTomson; 2012-04-19 at 09:07 PM. |

"Forming a group" is making a squad. An outfit is a long term commitment and if a player is serious about founding one. Not joining one, founding it. Then forking over a few of the dollars that you've not been spending to play the game is not that much to ask.

The Devs have all expressed that joining an Outfit is about as integral to the experience as shooting your gun and if you don't join up your missing out on most of what the game has to offer.
I understand that they need to make money but I think outfit mechanics should come standard. If they have to make us pay then atleast make it one time fee not a subscription. I suppose some of your ideas that are cosmetic could be included only for money but definitely anything involving gameplay/ranking and organization should be standard for sure. |

I see your point and I mentioned in my post that if there was something that costed money it should be a 1 time fee. What i was thinking in my head is a fee to found the outfit not a joining fee. Sorry I could have made that more clear cause that is not at all what I was trying to say.
