i do the same thing ;-)
whenever i find an online computer and can use it, i leave it with planetside2.com still open and i stored my latest costume pics in a psu album and whenever someone asks me to show them, they see planetside universe and ask me about it works every time and now that there actually is some good info and media on p2.com, everybody who looks at it gets interested. in sto i named my ships "new conglomerate" and "planetside 2 beta". that gets some attention as well. i even colored my char´s uniform in blue and gold a little guerilla advertizing doesn´t hurt oh and for some weeks now, i don´t even have to start ps2 discussions in the ingame zonechat any more. there are "mmo´s get old, when will we get something different"-discussions going on all the time 24/7, and ps2 gets mentioned very often. some months ago, i had to mention ps2 as the holy grail all the time, and it seems as this wasn´t futile

I think what we need is some Photoshop guru to generate "viral" marketing material that clearly states what PS2 is as concisely as possible. It needs to mention both PSU.com and PS2.com. Maybe some Facebook and Twitter links for updates as well.
Then make that material available to all of us so that we may print and post wherever possible. It would be pretty slick to have the capability to track postings via a map that we can routinely update as people report where they posted. That way we can sort of track the proliferation of PS2 propaganda. See below: Last edited by Oryon22; 2012-04-27 at 05:14 PM. |

A problem with starting marketing the game now is that there is very little footage that shows what the game is actually about, what makes it so unique and awesome. I am, of course, talking the large battles.
My fear is that drawing too much attention to PS2 at the alpha stage would cause many potential players to write the game off. Unlike PS1 players, they don't have a reference and may thus not understand the game or see its potential. |

I have been thinking that SOE should sell Planetside themed SOE Station Cash Cards at Wal Mart for a while now, but not just themed, but also put them in a full size game box so it can sit right next to other games...and today I went to WalMart and saw that Star Wars TOR is doing exactly this. They indeed have a full size game box for their 30 day gamecard.

Here is a walmart link to a TOR gamecard. The one I saw in the store is slightly different but it is in a full size box right with the other games.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Star-Wars-...Games/19487788 Here is a link to the Station Cash card you can buy at Walmart. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sony-Unive...-Card/19530504 It is a card only and it hangs with the rest of the gamecards, and as you know, people who already own the games they need cards for are the only ones who look there. They should make a Planetside 2 Themed Station Cash Card, and put it in a full size box just like the TOR example. |
