I watched the TB night ops video again and noticed something inteesting.
He keeps spawning and flying mossies(mosquito, Terran Republic ES planes). This has been regardless of if he is Vanu, NC or TR. Maybe its an admin thing, maybe its an alpha thing. Maybe it's that vehicle hacking is not in game because an empty vehicle is open for theft by any willing player. Deployed vehicles will probably count as in-use. One of those things to keep an eye on in the future methinks. It also means that vehicle ownership could be a lot less rigid than in PS1 (IMO a bad thing) Last edited by IMMentat; 2012-05-20 at 05:25 PM. |

He was using Admin commands.
The Devs do not want to make color schemes for all empires for all vehicles. No one wants to see the vehicle they PAIDED for stolen. I want vehicle hacking ingame. I have come to accept that it will never come to pass. |

I think it is something they are putting on the back burner. I myself have no care for it either way. In or not. I just think it is something to add down the line, because they might want to see how all the other features play out with each other. Fix the issues, and problems like balancing and such there. Then they will start with the new features after. Much like any other MMO.

I'm pretty sure it works just like it did in PS1, except there is no vehicle hacking so no opportunity to drive enemy vehicles.
That and they're adding an "outfit access" option to the vehicle screen so you can unlock a vehicle to just other outfit members. |

One of my favorite things about vehicle hacking:
As an infil, escaping to the top of a base/tower boomering/knifing people along the way, then waiting for someone to come in and land their reaver or whatever on an airpad to charge inside. I sneak over, hack their vehicle, and lay as much waste to the attacking forces as I can before they shoot me down. |

But how will your teammates know if your hacking a terminal if you don't have a Rek? Did I miss Something are they Gun Hacking? I mean at least show a beam of light coming out of your eye or something. Heck if no Rek more room for inventory.

Seems to me if you just set the difficulty of capturing a vehicle where you want it (relative to destroying it by conventional means) it solves that problem. If it's too easy, you could cert for some kind of proximity warning for your ride so that would be well into the advantage for the owner. Jacking promotes situational awareness and teamwork between vehicles. |
