I realise this is completely arbitrary to actual game play, but it even a mild gib effect makes a difference in how weapons feel. When you blast infantry with a massive explosion and they just flop down like the have been shot with a pea shooter.
Doesn't have to be over the top, just at least with the big hitters I wanna see things go splat. thoughts? |

Well, that would probably cause the age rating to go up and then they gotta do age verification, sincei n such an expansive game you can't just add low detail.
And on that note, adding gibbing would be very hard on the system, imagine dozens of nearby soldiers scattering into 15 physical high end objects each. You then gotta find a way to separate all the models, ect ect, it'd be odd, and feel wierd, and probably would be too hard on a system already pushing it for thousands of players to fight. Then it'd take extra time to implement it. Not too many really care for it, they prefer having the basic stuff, and no one would wait longer just to have a bit of gibbing added in. |
