We have heard that there will be an option for ejection seats that will allow gal pilots to drop off troopers like we did in Planetside 1.
I want to take this a little bit further. How about incorporating the new spawn at galaxy mechanic to be allowable midair? Since we have a flight ceiling of about 600 feet you could have a pilot hover over a base and drop all the troops in. Of course you would need a few pilots to fight off any interceptors the other team unleashes, but it could be a rather interesting mechanic. |

Midair spawning is just plain OP. You'd just spawn and drop anywhere without risk.
Galaxy dropships are supposed to large, bulky, hard to maneuver, hard to land, and easy to spot. That's what makes them fun. Just spawning in one high enough to avoid detection and dropping anywhere defeats the purpose of having them land and deploy. it'd also have enemies pouring out against a base at every second, and defeat the purpose of loading up troops at one facility and proceeding to do a Galaxy Drop. You'd just fly over and throw up troops all day. Just wouldn't work, be balanced, or plausible. |
