Console gamers coming to PlanetSide 2

i just saw this video thought it deserved some attention . i frequent many fps gaming community forums , also im a active modern fps gamer. there is a huge buzz going around about planetside 2 among console gamers and from what ive seen they will be coming in droves....bf,halo,cod, and mw players/clans and outfits heading to planetside 2.

but it is true many console only players are switching over to PC for game slike this.

Console development is at a stand still game wise.. players are tired of tiny maps with 6 vs 6 lone wolf games designed for one guy to be able to backpack an entire side by camping and win a round.

I am not to thrilled with the notion that COD players and console gamers are coming to the game. For the most part COD players and other modern FPS player are an archtype that just want to run and gun and could care less about teamwork and tactics. Planetside is NOT COD!!! If those types of people are going to come into the game with there arrogance and kill streak obsessed personalities it will ruin the game!

If you truly believe that will happen, then you should welcome those new players with open arms. Adopting an elitist attitude towards CoD/BF players will only make them feel that not only is the community bad, but that they are left out in the community. Consequently, with your logic, they will most likely continue to behave arrogantly and run and gun.

Help new players and bring them into the community and even into your outfits and this will help alleviate this possible issue.

"More fodder to pad my kill count" hit the nail on the head.... but then again i came from console fps games and many others here did aswell. they will do fine with the combat. maybe not the teamwork...not much objective based fps games out on console.

you'd be suprised many will come from PS3 and MAG which was 256 players and objective based gameplay.

Not all the console gamers are 12 year old cod brats.. That's cod in general PC or console.

Many console gamers are very skilled players who work well with others.. not all but it's a mix.

Either way Console gamers have taken notice to PC gaming in general and PS2.

Because playing one type make you unable to play another right? To believe you are are superior to them because you didn't play such a game is arrogance in itself.

Insulting cod is getting pretty old. You can do better than that.

I used to be a console gamer (although I pretty much stopped playing shooters after CoD4 and BFBC2) but I was always into the much more team orientated game modes so I don't think it is fair to lump all console gamers into the same category.

Plus, what could be more satisfying than turning a console gamer into a PC FPS'er? I'm sure a lot of people would convert to PC gaming, or at least become more team work orientated if given a chance (not all of them though but they will be cleaned up pretty quickly)

Certainly and interesting point. I'm also worried about Console gamers who are so used to the run-and-gun lonewolf gameplay coming into PlanetSide and trying to take the scene. I feel it's this kind of stuff that ruined C-Chat in PS1. We'll see though, I'm willing to give it a chance. I like the publicity though, good to see PSide get recognized.
