I've joined the Army

I'm an E-3, job is 54B, and I'm going to basic training 2003 07 31 at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. Thanks all that helped me with info about the army.

IEDs, SAF, RPGs, & mortars. But only during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The enemy is so poor, they have to keep day jobs

In order to come in as an E-3, you must have 60+ college credit hours. I plan on finishing my BS.

No problem. We need people to work and pay taxes to pay us. I was going to say something rude, but you could like some other armed forces. And the armed forces aren't for everyone. I'd rather someone not join, than have someone join who cannot cut it.

I cannot express enough the gratitude I have nor the gratitude of the American people enough to have you on station defending freedom.

It is an honor to wear the uniform of the United States. Remember that you are the symbol of freedom, of justice, of the good, and of the truth.

In what you will face; you do not face alone.

The American people stand behind you; supporting you.

May God bless you. May God bless the United States of America.

Or you can sucker someother poor soul to join with you and pass a simple physical. That's the easy way to instantly make E-3.

Seriously though... why?

Finish your college and then join as an officer. Don't rush into it. This just seems like a waste of talent to me. Your parents have forked out all this money for your college and you're doing this to them?

The Army isn't the glorious job you think it is. It's a lot of hardwork and bullshit. More bullshit than you can imagine but.. if you are bent on doing this than take some notes.

When you go to basic do what you are told when you are told and how you are told. Do NOTHING ELSE and do not hesitate. If you give your all in everything you do and show your D Sgts you are working your hardest.. they wont really mess with you. Dress right dress and bring a lot of painkillers with you. They sell for a fortune late at night in the barracks.

They told me you cannot get pass E-2 without 60+ credit hours.

My parents haven't pay shit for me in 7 years. All my college loans are in my name. I haven't lived at home in 5 years.

I've looked into this for many years. Alot of people in my family are in. If I hate it, I atleast want to be able to tell my kids I did a few years.
