45 days free.

So I was checking my SoE account that I used to play Planetside back in 2006 with and I noticed that I had a 45 day game pass on my Planetside account. So I downloaded Planetside and I fired it up and I am able to play.

It seems that game pass didn't start until I logged in. It expires on the 22nd of July and is non-recurring.

Is this a promotion? Did anybody else get this deal?

Heck, if there are any outfits that are playing New Conglomerate and wouldn't mind a noob, I'm going to be playing this game as much as I can in the next month to get ready for Planetside 2. I hope having an active account gets me into the PS2 beta as well.

Oh pardon my ignorance, I noticed they gave everybody 45 days for that hacking incident. My bad.

Yup its from when Sony got hacked awhile back. Everyone who had a planetside account before the hack got 45 days free.Not sure if it counts you as a active player though.

As far as I know, it doesn't matter if you are an active player for beta invites. All accounts that have subscribed to PS1 in the past will get invited to beta. They haven't said whether or not beta invites for accounts that have an older creation date will have priority over ones that have a newer creation date.

Played PS1 today again and was a blast!!! except there were like 3 GOTR members online so i rolled with Azure Twilight

I was in some good fights over the weekend. Even during the week I find enough to keep me busy. I think numbers are picking up slightly as the hype for PS2 grows.

Once PS2 goes open beta, PS is going to die overnight though.

I only got a chance to play Planetside during the reserves program and even then I could barely run the game. I've just gone hunting around my old SOE accounts (I set up a new one recently as I have changed my online handle and email address) and have found 45 days pending for Planetside on my account. I'm glad I didn't purchase game access last week now.
