Stupid question from a stupid non-techie

I apologize, this is another one of those do you think I can run it fine threads. And I expect to get either 1 of 2 very deserved responses of: Are you an idiot? Of course it can. Or, Are you a moron? No way in hell.

Intel Core i7 2630QM Processor
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M 1.5GB GDDR5 VRAM Graphics Card

Ill post any other info if necessary, but thoughts please?

Im sure it will play it. just might not have everything on high settings.

how much ram does your laptop have?

I had a Asus G53jw a year or so ago and it was able to do quite well with the gtx 460m chip it had.

It'll probably play, but the mobile GPU in particular isn't going to hack it if you want high settings.

We need a sticky: "Devs say they want a several-years old system to run it. The poorly-optimized E3 demo ran on a GTX670 at very high resolutions. If you have mid-high hardware from the last 3 years you're probably good to go"

"Otherwise, we don't know!!!!!!!!!!!"

Because, honestly, except those too bits above we have no real indication of how it runs. EVERYTHING is conjecture or an educated guess, at best.

Celeron E1200 Dual-Core 1.6GHz
Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3600+

GeForce GT 120
Radeon HD 3670

1 GB

Win Xp 32
DX 9
9 GB hdd space

game debate has these posted as minimum spec so if there correct you will be able to run it at higher than lowest settings...
but as others have said dont expect highest settings as i can see by the demos that the game will require a beefy desktop pc to max out the game.
even with my i7 [email protected] and 5870 i dont think i will be able to max it. then again i want the best frame rate so i will be running at low settings with high textures with a bit of fsaa if i can get away with a solid 60fps minimum.

I wouldn't trust those at all. I don't even think PS would run good off either of those.

I know for a fact it'll run PS1 extremely well. During the 45 day free trial while back, I played PS1 on this laptop. Core2Duo 2.2GHz, 4GB RAM, and 8400M GS (old as heck!). PS1 ran fine in all battles, though I honestly don't remember how far I put the draw distance.

Man I remember waiting literally 10 minutes to load continents back in 2004, so I would ignore Sanc recalls from my outfit leader hahahaha. With this computer I loaded them up in 2 seconds flat, though that's more the RAM.

I doubt it would have been particularly playable. Those graphics cards are lowest on the totem pole. It those are the real specs, they didn't make it in because of graphic power but because of feature support.

That's more of a function of HDD and RAM speed than anything else

yeah have a feeling it would look more like Planetside 2 the comic book than it would look like Planetside 2 the video game. Would probably be able to count the fps on your hands.

Its got 8gb of ram I believe. Though everyone is right, everything is going to be speculation at this point, one can only wait and hope. Especially because this laptop didnt come cheap hah. I mean I bought it about 6 months ago and not with PS2 in mind, but here's to hoping.
