China's Interesting Recruit Center Stats.

Being part Chinese one of the first things I checked on the Recruit Center was the Chinese percentages of factions. They turn out to be quite interesting...

NC: 0%
TR: 2%
VS: 98% (GO VS!)

Any thoughts?

Just remember that # is based on the # of people who are each empire and use the FB app... not representative at all! Very little external validity.

I have some background on this, having researched and read about the activity of players on the Chinese version of Eve Online.

Chinese gaming is highly polarized into very large multigame factions, some with thousands or many thousands of players. Its a small number of really big factions, and they really live above any particular game. This makes for very different mechanics because player bonds arent really built in the game. Games become just stages for the larger politics between these actual RL game enthusiast factions.

Rather what happens is these large clans join different games and re-enact their constant rivalries across many different games. The battle lines are basically drawn before you even join the game, basically, you're coming here to contest the claims of your rival clan. Eve online was split 3 ways from day one, for example, and members of each faction has everythign they need built and provided for them by the clan.

My guess is you're seeing a subfaction of a particular clan taking interest in planetside, but maybe they don't have a rival in this arena yet...or maybe both factions picked vanu, but either way they are all following one person's strategy, so you see them all on one faction.
