I know you all are FPS fanatics, but I recently discussed Myst with some people, and have started Riven again. I just made this thread to start a discussion on Myst, and possibly to get some comments on Exile. Riven was so hard I didn't bother buying it.

Riven suckz ass. Its way to difficult and slow, ya get bored by the time you reach the second disk (on Playstation) and the only reason youve made it that far is cause you used a walkthrough.

I knew I shouldn't have even dared to start a topic on a logic game in the FPS gamers forum.. but thx for the info.. I really meant if anyone knew if they backed off and made Myst III easier.

Don't know about Exile. I played Myst, beat it, enjoyed it. I bought Riven because I thought it would be good, but it was just too hard. The plain obscurity of most things was my main problem. There was no way of knowing how close you were to the correct answer, or if you had all of the pieces for the puzzle, or if what you were messing with was even a puzzle. Riven was hard enough that I didn't even give Exile a second glance.

Same here, liked myst. Pwned by Riven. Ignored Exile. I'll just read some article on gamespot or something.

Oh and btw, what was your favorite age. Mine was the forest or gear one.

Uh... it's been so long... since the gear one is the only one that comes to mind, I'll go with that one.

I beat myst pretty easily. Well a lot easier than what I heard from people who played it. I never got around to playing Riven, but I got exile for my PS2 cause I saw it cheap. It was a little difficult in spots, but I passed it as well. Can't compare it to riven since I never played it.

Anyone heard of URU? Made by the same people, same kind of idea, but MMO.

They did a quite amazing thing while people were waiting for beta. Left clues that would lead them to actual geographical places where the dev team (i would assume) left stuff for them. Apparently it really got their minds off the beta .

Why does everyone say riven was hard? I beat it under a week with no guide. I really liked it especially the little bubble village around the lagoon. I no longer have the patientsfor games like this but I was always pretty good at them. (beat myst when i was like 10 or so)
