I recently saw some fan/dev art which had pictures of soldiers fighting in ruined cities. The pictures looked very much like modern large cities but completely ruined through war. Is there any info on weather there will be a coupla cities? Perhaps one 'capital' per continent which is more of a city than a facility. I know they didn't have this in the original but I think it could be really cool and make the maps and combat style alot more versatile. any thoughts?

Urban combat is fine, and some of the base layouts that we haven't seen may provide that. Cheers, GG |

The game lore suggests that Esamir (another continent) "is a frozen wasteland of old cities and highways". We haven't see anything of Esamir yet, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it does end up having these ruins. And it probably will be one of the 3 launch continents (the other two being Indar, which is what everything we've seen so far is, and Amerish, a lush, foresty-type continent).

Would definitely love to see some true urban landscapes, not just the usual building-to-building stuff in the bases (which still looks completely awesome, not tryin to knock on them or anything).
Think of it this way. For those of you've played paintball/airsoft, there were the fields that were basically forest areas (always a fun classic) and then there would be the random fort or small bunker'd up portions, but if you've ever played at a place like the OKDDay field in Wyandotte (at "Carentan" specifically) or at Skirmish USA's urban fields, you know there is a huge difference in the style of gameplay and it is EXHILARATING to play in urban areas; even relatively small ones (a few city blocks doesn't take up much space but there's still lots that can be done with it). +1 for this idea. |

I wouldn't be surprised at all by more urban maps. I think the new layout of bases will offer a bit of a transitioning point, introducing some similar urban/building combat. Given that we will see more continents in the future, and now continents are subscribing to the multiple biome philosophy, urban combat is much more likely. An entire continent city is hard to work with, but a large city can work fine.
