The thing is that came to my attention is that I have seen is that when a sniper is cloaked he can't shoot so well laying prone you can't have the excuse of "It would be to hard to see him", hopefully the admins don't see this as a bad post and kill me for it haha.

As far as prone goes, I'm sticking to my all time original argument of:
It's a gimmick mechanic because it's situational at best, mostly unnecessary, and there's heaps of cover everywhere in this game anyway. As far as cloaking goes: They have to uncloak for each shot, their position is given away regardless of them being prone or standing, cloaking is vastly superior to prone because it's useful in most situations, at a distance it is hard to accurately distinguish a moving cloaker from their surroundings whereas being prone you are still visible and a very dead target, the cloaking mechanic has vastly improved synergy with the heaps of cover everywhere in this game because it doesn't have reduced mobility to go with it. ------ I'm not sure where you're trying to go with this thread, but as far as the poll goes, I won't care if they add prone or not, but prone vs cloak, cloak always wins and less than 90% of all players will be utilizing the prone mechanic at any given time anyway for a successful faction (offensively AND defensively). So I voted that they should leave prone out, NOT because I disagree with the mechanic or that it's catering to a broader audience, but because of my above feelings. I respect the rest of you that feel it should be in because of your many personal opinions, just wanted to say that Last edited by Cuross; 2012-06-12 at 10:12 AM. |

When you have the game, (any kind of game) Its like a pizza, its just normal, every day cheese pizza and only has what is needed on it. But when you add topping on it, they make it better, or worse depending on your own opinion. The toppings in game are prone and small mechanics that make the game better and prone should as all ways be tested in beta, that is what I am trying to convince people to do, test it before hating it. |

i'm going to agree with this
1: its allready been discussed and the original thread isnt even cold yet 2: its not a very clear post also : going prone is a concealment thing for the most part , a guy in purple/red/blue armor is still just as visible when laying down in the dirt oh and : you cant "nerf" prone since nerfing prone would be called crouching. And from what I gather, he's basically trying to say that the infiltrator can't fire while cloaked, this basically means that he has to turn his cloak off to shoot. I think he's saying, should prone be in there to keep his profile to a minimum so that he doesn't have to risk being seen while making a shot. A fair compromise, instead of standing or crouched and uncloak, go prone and keep your profile minimized. That's what I understand he's trying to say.

Really... in my opinion... all prone is going to do is make my job easier on all ends of the spectrum. However... I still don't want it. I'd like for snipers to actually have a chance of surviving, and prone, while it may help in some circumstances, will fail hard in many others.
