Radar Jammer for Light Assault

This would fill the tool slot for the Light Assault class and would aid them in there mission of disruption.

It would be a small deploy-able item that, when activated, would create several ghost images on nearby enemy radars. It will be activated by a hand held push button like the boomer.

3 MAIN USES

1. When ever too many enemies are closing in on your position you can toss it down and fire it off in the hope of distracting the enemy to make your escape.

2. Deploy it on one side of a group of enemies then make your way to the other side. Fire it off and then go shoot them in the back as they face the ghosts from the jammer.

3. Deploy it when moving with a squad to mask their numbers and positions.

Please don't make this thread about what to do with ammo boxes.

Thanks,

I like it. I'd assume it takes the place of the LA ammo box if equiped?

Also, maybe it pulses every X seconds for a maximum of X second?

Or it jams actively for X seconds or until destroyed/picked up and moved?

Could even have certs for jam strength, range, duration, health of deployable.

Cheers,

GG

I figure it would work for somewhere between 15 to 30 seconds. It can be destroyed. I hadn't thought of picking it back up. That would be cool. I imagine balancing it would depend on how believable the ghosts look on your radar. I they are obviously walking through walls then it will only distract people for a second or two.

I am too. Margerat did say in the day 3 E3 livecast that they were toying with the idea of removing ammo from light assault. Though a group/area jammer could be a nice way to add some utility to them if ammo was removed.

I see the tactical value of your idea but I'm not too keen on the idea of actively turning the enemy's UI against them. It would be too harsh of a lesson for new players, and too annoying in the long run. If they were to add a mechanic like that, I think it would fall under the infiltrator's bag of tricks anywho. To keep with the idea of a jammer pack for the LA, it could operate like the raider or sniper's jammer in Tribes ascend. Concealing himself and very close friendlies from the enemy's radar. whether the jamming capability is worn or is deployed on the ground I'm unsure. With the massive amount of unlocks, perhaps both are a possibility.
